In the authors defense I feel a bit obligated to point out that Akane does
have a heck of a lot of natural potential as a martial artist in responce to
VGAP, after all, she could fight off all those students with a skill that
impressed even Ranma right away, when her father had obviously not been
training her much. If you want to consider one possible way for this story
to work is simply that Akane has more natural skill than Ranma does, which
is entirely possible. while Ranma has more Raw potential, which is the key
to his character throughout most of the series.

While I personally think Ranma wouldn't be half this nice in this situation,
and would probably feel to himself that his victory was a sham, after all a
oneshot trick isn't any good twice, so the next match unless something
changed again he'd lose.

Therefor he obviously wasn't really good enouph, and that match was a fluke.
At least in his own eyes. Sometimes winning just isn't enouph to salve a
persons pride.

On another note the fact that Ranma didn't know he dislocated his shoulder
would be a bit hard to swallow, training with Genma probably would have done
that pleny of times, he should be better diagnose his own injures, after
all, what medical attention would he ever have gotten on the road, Genmas
too cheap to go to doctors unless he has to, and then will always skip out
on it. a small point I know, but when I read a story I look for all the
small things.

More thoughts as they come
