After all if he does stay
the same then most of the critism has a valid point, by this point most
people can accept that Akane was better, how we don't know, but that's
irrelevant.
Again, these are not completely worded sentences. I can't understand
what you're saying.
According to the author Ranma didn't change, and from that
point the readers have made our assumptions.
Actually, the author hasn't said anything of the sort, to my knowledge.
He simply hasn't demonstrated the cause of Ranma's personality shift,
to the effect that Ranma no longer needs to be the best.
It is an alternate reality and simply put that means just about anything
can
change within the authors definitions, but the overriding feeling on FFML
seems to be that Ranmas characterization is off.
It is. Not horribly off, but it is noticable. I, personally, have no problem
with Ranma as he is portrayed in the story. I think he makes a much better
person than the canon. However I DO want to see some sign of how Ranma has
changed from the canon. You can't simply say 'ok here he's different, just
because I say so.' The [ALT] tag signifies a change from the canon. Ok, how
did he change? What happened? That's what I want to know.
