My pet theory on the origins of the Moon Kingdom. . .well, its revealed in 
some upcoming fics of mine and I don't want to spoil the surprise.

As for Beryl and Mettalia, I believe Metallia to be an intelligence of some 
kind orbiting the Negaverse homeworld in the form of a planet, moon or some 
other celestial body. When her forces broke through to Earth, she picked 
Beryl as her avatar.

::Shrugs:: Only Takeuchi knows for sure.
