All responses very much the same. :)

Some of you may have been wondering what happened to me in my capacity as a
fanfic writer, as I haven't sent a non-[Admin] message to the FFML in over
a month.

The answer, in a word, is "Utena".

And what a good word that is, too. :)

Yar. Rolls off the tongue nicely, it does.

You have to understand, it isn't that I have any especial hatred
for cats.

I'm not very fond of animals in general.

I've had some bad experiences with them.

Hmm, is she referring to the cows, elephants, or cats here? :)

Probably the elephants or the cats. The cows (or, for that matter, the
chickens, frogs and sea-turtles) haven't happened yet. :)

That's just the kind of thing she'd do, the horrible girl.
Taking an animal away from his mother before he was ready.
Taking it away from the siblings who love it.

What a fascinating analogy...

The wheels of Nanami-chan's mind spin in funny ways.

No one loves him like I do. No one ever could love him like
I do. Who has known him longer, who has loved him longer, than I
have? It's only fair.

Anyone who comes between me and my brother will be sorry.

Brrr... absolutely chilling, and in such a nicely written way, too. :)

Nanami-chan loves her big brother so much. :)

"I don't think I feel the same way about Kozue that you feel
about Touga-sempai, Nanami."

Why do you say it like that?

"Oh? And how exactly do I feel about Oniisama that's so
different from how you feel about Kozue-san, Miki-kun?"

Miki: No, no, it's not like that. I like Himemiya-san, after all. I mean,
she's
beautiful, plays the piano well, reminds me of my sister.... Er, this isn't
going well, is it?

Well, Miki, at least, is able to channel his odd feelings for his sibling
onto someone else. :)

What is with that stopwatch, anyway? Someday, I'll have to
corner you and ask you--and not let you go until you give me a
straight answer.

Nanami: Yes, I'll have to tie you to the bed, just to make sure you don't get
away, and then sit on you and... oooh, icky! Hmm, I wonder if that'll work
with
Onii-sama?

Don't give me ideas. :)

You curl up in his lap. You're so small. You fit there
just perfectly. I'm jealous.

"Would you like to borrow some of my pop albums? They
sometimes make me feel better, when I'm depressed."

"Maybe you should open the curtains, too. Let some sun in."

Extra line above. Is it deliberate?

Yes. They're meant to represent the absolute silence with which Touga is
confronting Nanami, in between her futile attempts to make some kind of
connection with him.

If everything can be forgiven, then I have nothing to be
sorry for. Thus, why should I need to change, or do penance, or
suffer any longer for what is done and cannot be undone?

So why did I do it?

All of a sudden, I have this image of Nanami as a nun - which really
cracks me
up. :)

Yeah! And she could hang around with Whoopi Goldberg, and they'd get up to
all kinds of wacky hijinx, and... :)

     "Damn cat."

     I don't even know why.

Penance? :)

I don't even know why. :)

Nicely written, Alan. Nanami was perfectly in character and oh so delightful.
:)

Isn't she just? I adore Nanami. :)

Thanks for the commentary.

Ciao,
-Alan Harnum
