A few days back, I sent a spam to FFML in search
of Sakura Taisen fanfics. Unfortunately, that yielded
very little positive results.
Then I had a moment of enlightment; if I wanted
more ST fanfic to be written, write one myself! The
only problem with that is the fact that this series is
so obscure, very little people are familiar with it.
So how can I get people's interest? Answer; fuse it
with characters from other series. If ST fics become a
mainstream, I can write fics with characters actually
from ST.
Then I encountered the third obstacle; which
characters am I going to use? This one wasn't so easy
to solve. With my mind boggled with possibility, I ask
anyone interested enough to give me suggestions. Even
if you don't know a single thing about ST, I have
provided the character descriptions below, so please
don't hesitate to reply! Here goes:
CASTS:
1. Oogami Ichiro. Sakura Taisen's protagonist. He's
very patriotic and full of sense of duty. Also kind to
everyone and very polite to his superiors. And, of
course, he can't decide between six pretty girls
begging for his attention. ^_^ He fights with
nitou-ryu kenjutsu (double-sword swordmanship).
Likely contenders: Ranma (R1/2), Tenchi (TM!), Mamoru
(SM)
2. Shinguuji Sakura. The #1 heroine. She is generally
nice and friendly, but gets angry fairly easily. She's
almost instantly smitten with Oogami, and gets jealous
every time he so much as blushes toward other women.
Her fighting style heavily involves iai-nuki (fast
draw), also known as battoujutsu.
Likely contenders: Akane (R1/2), Kaoru (RK), Aeka
(TM!)
3. Iris Chateurbran. 9-year old French esper girl.
Hyperactive and super-kawaii. She thinks of herself as
an adult and hates to be treated as a child.
Definitely immature and selfish, though. Her esper
powers include psychic energy blasts (or, more
accurately, shining hearts and flowers...) and healing
waves (which, amazingly enough, is done by her teddy
bear!).
Likely contenders: Azusa/Chibi Hinako (R1/2),
Chibi-Usa (SM), Sasami (TM!)
4. Kanzaki Sumire. Very high-classed lady. She is as
arrogant as she is beautiful, always wanting to be in
center of attention. But she has a caring heart deep
inside, and won't hesitate to sacrifice herself for
her friends. She also HATES to be humiliated. Her
weapon of choice is naginata, which she is very
skilled and graceful at.
Likely contenders: Kodachi (R1/2), Umi (MKR), Rei (SM)
5. Tachibana Maria. Half-Russian, half Japanese. Very
intelligent strategist with a sad past. She is
initially somewhat cold and harsh on Oogami, but
reveals her mature charm once he saves her from
danger. Cooks well. An expert of guns, she never
misses her shot.
Likely contenders: Kasumi/Nabiki (R1/2), Setsuna (SM)
6. Li Kouran. Chinese mad scientist with glasses,
Kansai dialect, and happy-go-lucky attitude. She
desires to use her inventions to make the world a
better place for everyone. However, she has a
well-hidden inferiority complex. Her expertise in
machines is more impressive than her actual combat
ability, which relys on guns and bombs.
Likely contenders: Ukyo/Shampoo/Ranko (R1/2), Skuld
(O!MG)
7. Kirishima Kanna. If it wasn't for her very large
chest, many people would mistake her for a hunky man.
She is abnormally strong; she actually swam from
Okinawa to Honshu when her ship sank. She talks rough
and eats enough for ten people. Filled with a passion
to become stronger, but loves kids and friendly in a
rough manner. A Karate master beyond compare, her
fists are more powerful than any weapons other members
use.
Likely contenders: Makoto (SM), Ryoko (TM!)
Of course, there are more than seven main
characters, but those are the ones I need the most
help on. If possible, I would like to line it up with
just one series instead of dozens.
I love Sakura Taisen. I want more people to love
it. And the best way for me to do so is to write a
good fanfic. If you feel the same way, please help me out!
