A short quick comment:

A very nice fic with good narrative, sustained pacing of the story, and an
excellent plot twist at the end. It's rare to see such a good execution of
an original TM idea; kudos to you for pulling it off.

I'd just like to point out one potential flaw that you might want to
consider explaining in a rewrite - namely, what about Tsunami?
