THE CLAN - Ch 19
The Last Vampire
------------------------------
"All right, Pops," Ranma exclaimed. "Don't move.
Genma looked up from his spot by the shogi board in a
panic. Ranma was standing on top of the dojo with a bandoleer full
of wooden stakes and a katana lifted from the Kunou mansion.
"Uhh... Ranma! So good to see you again!" Genma stuttered,
carefully backing away from the open shoji. "What brings you by,
boy?"
"I've been talking to Cologne, and she knows a lot more
about vampires than anyone else I've met," Ranma explained drawing
a stake. "She also told me how to fix 'em."
"Oh? I wasn't aware that vampirism could be 'fixed', boy."
"Yeah," Ranma held the stake menacingly. "Just gotta kill
the head vampire."
"Oh my. Nodoka!"
"She's not coming. Already took care of her. If she was
the head vampire, you would have been cured already."
Genma gulped. "Why are you being so threatening to your
father, boy?"
"'Cause that load the two of you fed me was complete
bullshit. Now I know who's really in charge."
"Uh..."
Ranma leapt, driving the stake at Genma's heart. The old
man dodged, deceptively fast. He disappeared in a puff of mist and
reappeared behind Ranma clad in a black cape and a tuxedo. His
eyes glowed a deep red shade and his fangs were clearly visible.
"So, you've figured it out, my son?"
"You could say that," Ranma admitted.
"What about the raveners, boy? Don't you have to deal with
them first? I could help you take them out, if you'll work with
me!"
"Huh? Actually, I found out that they're here in order to
wipe the vampires out and keep them from overwhelming humanity.
Nobody could have guessed, but the Raveners are actually good
guys!"
"Uhh?"
"Little red headed girl told me." Ranma didn't waste any
time while the old man was lost in confusion. He darted forward,
driving the stake into Genma's chest with a sickening rip. Genma
exploded in a fountain of blood, but Ranma took no heed. Pushing
down his own disgust at having to kill the vampire, Ranma swung
the katana, cleanly decapitating Genma.
The head flew threw the air and landed at Kasumi's feet
just as she came out of the kitchen.
"Oh my! Somebody fragged Uncle Saotome! I guess I should
clean this up."
"Kasumi?" Ranma asked. "Are you still a vampire?"
"Why of course, Ranma-kun!"
"Damnit! Wrong guy again!" Ranma lashed out with another
stake and repeated the vampire killing procedure. There were now
two heads on the floor. Athia stepped into the room, gasping at
the gore, but Ranma didn't even give her the chance to scream.
Instead he pulled out the Stake-o-Matic 2000 (TM) and let fly with
over 3000 rounds per minute of sharpened wooden stakes. Athia was
a greasy spot on the wall when he was done.
"What's that noise?" Another voice asked.
Ranma turned and hosed Nabiki with the SOM2K. She
dissolved in a spray of rose petals, ala Zoicite.
Ranma was breathing heavily, throwing down the spent
weapon. "ALL RIGHT, DAMNITT! WHO'S THE HEAD VAMPIRE?!!?!"
"Ranma?" Another voice asked.
Ranma turned to see Akane come down the stairs. There were
now yellow bows and ribbons tied around her wings.
"Akane!"
"Ranma!"
They rushed into each others's arms and embraced warmly.
"Oh, I've missed you so much!" Ranma exclaimed.
"Me to. I thought I had lost you," Akane admitted. "I
promise! I'll never betray you again!"
"Damn right."
"Huh?"
Akane's smile turned into a death rictus as she fell back
away from the martial artist with a steak driven through her
heart.
"SPINNING VAMPIRE DECAPITATION STRIKE!"
Akane's head went spinning, leaving the kanji for Ranma's
attack painted on the wall in blood.
Soun walked in, saw all the blood, and started to bawl.
"Err... Sorry about this, Mister Tendou. Not a lot you can
do about vampires, after all."
"No, it's not that, Son! WHO'S GOING TO PAY FOR ALL THIS
CLEANING?!?!"
"Ignoring his ex-father-in-law, Ranma turned and pondered
the vampire bodies. "Hmm... That's all of 'em, I guess. It was too
bad Akane was the head vampire. If I hadn't had to kill her last
the other's would all still be alive. Oh well! Kodachi's in
Hawaii, so I guess I'll grab Sasuke, and we'll head out there.
Hello Nurse!"
Ranma skipped happily out of the room, careful to avoid
the large puddles of blood.
"Bwee?" a little, piggy voice called out. P-chan walked
into the room. His expression darkened upon seeing the gore and
his little piggy fangs stuck out as he growled in rage and anger.
"Damnit, Ranma! He thought. You may have destroyed my servants,
but my vengeance against you shall be eternal!!!"

Two skies are falling. Assume two perfectly spherical
Chicken Littles and two round, featureless planets. One
atmosphere is 1.78 times denser than normal and is
imploding at the speed of sound. The other is composed
entirely of Sarin gas. On which planet will Chicken
Little survive the longest?
