Now, how does this relate to your fanfic? Well, I'm willing to stretch
my willing suspension of disbelief, that, in this fusion, Ranma could
learn Hiten Mitsurugi Ryuu through a scroll, or through some master in
China, or whatever. That's fine, I like the fic as you've got it, but
then I consider the fusion to be more Ranma than Rurouni Kenshin, since
the RK elements are so diluted. I'm just saying that you can't base
this particular deviation from canon on the logic that Hiko might have
taught other students, because that's just not the case. :)
For some evil reason, I feel like playing the Devil's Advocate
(tm) on this matter, Krista...
Spolier for the Kenshin series below!!!!

*** So it appears the the possibility of Hiko teaching the Hiten
Mitsurugi Ryu to someone else isn't so far-fetched... Granted, this
is the anime series - I have no idea whether this storyline happened
in the manga.
It doesn't. It comes from filler anime episodes, which I personally
consider slightly less canon than really bad fanfiction. :p
Please. Don't get me started on the filler anime episodes. They should
have stuck to the manga and quit after the Kyoto arc.
