'Cranky Evafic Comments' is an individual effort aimed at (1) supporting
Evafic writers on the FFML, (2) letting off steam by making gratitious
comments. A general point - it would be nice if pple included their
archive URLs in their fics so that others can look for previous parts
etc.

Asuka smells something lemony in the entry plug of Unit 01 but
it isn't Shinji's fault. Quite funny if a little sick. I just
wonder to myself how Asuka "smelled something like this before,
but she couldn't recall where." Definitely suspicious. ;)
[X-Over] Lina & the Evangelion Golem

A really interesting stand-off between Lina and Martina who
brings out some really serious (red) heavy artillery. Very much
a Slayers feel to the whole thing - big pompous speechs by the
villians and cutely insolent conversations among our heroes who
happily chat away in the face of danger.
The idea of Evangelion appearing as ancient technology on
other worlds looks like a good way of introducing Eva elements
in other series (though transplanting the Eva characters
convincingly will be a tough challenge).

Humour. Weird. Yes, definitely. Wacky and incoherent, sorta. My
favourite gags are the multiple misnumbered Rei clones running
amok. Not so keen on the timeline/continuity problems though.
Shinji-Gendou-Giant Yui is just *priceless*. Yui's ranting recalls
Yui's characterization in Jim Lazar's _The Garden of EVA_. And a
particular quirk that most orthodox Eva readers (whatever that means)
will question if Ritsuko really is a raging lesbian. A link to an
archive would have really helped for those interested in seeing
the first NSE.

Another great installment of this mega-crossover. We begin to get
important hints at how all the various characters are linked and
why they were brought together. Not much action but the next part
promises an epic battle. Asuka is loud and Shinji is mild. Perfect. :)
One discerns a grand over-arching theme in this series on the scale
of John Biles & Rod M's _CoaEG_ and Stefan Gagne's Slayers works.
Go for it, Kyle! I eagerly await more installments of this story.
[X-Over] Oneechan Chapter 2

An intriguing Ranma-Eva xover. On the basis of the characterisation
of Misato Saotome and Ritsuko Hibiki, methinks Mr Morse is one of the
latest gems that has appeared on the FFML. One hopes that he will be
able to keep the story under control, in order and keep up regular
production of story parts. Particularly imaginative ideas in the story
include Misato's story writing and Kasumi hanging loose. Great stuff.

A fic in the style of email exchanges. It reminded one of a small
passage in John Biles & Rod M's _Children of an Elder God_ omake
#2 'The Rider in Red' released last Christmas.
Clean and effective writing and oh-so-funny. Only to be let down
at the end by an ineffective Rei-Gendou scene. Perhaps an email
from SEELE would be better? Besides, Rei is MINE. You hear me,
MINE! MINE! ALL MINE! ;)

A day in the life of Ayanami Rei with a twist. Intense. Disturbing.
Compelling. I won't spoil it by revealing more. A piece of superb
writing from the author of the very excellent _Rei's Birthday Present_
series.
