I don't know about this one. Either we're both seriously missing the
point of this fic, or else the fic is seriously ill-conceived.
I could be wrong, but it seems clear to me that this is an Ukyo embraces
her masculinity fic, in the same mold as all the Ranma embraces his
femininity fics out there. The latter isn't my favorite genre by any
means, but I don't see why sauce for one shouldn't be sauce for the
other.

she picked one up after the events of the manga. Those "adventures" that
Ranma referred to might have been a trip to Jusenkyo so that both Ranma
and Ukyo could use the nanniquan. In any case, I don't see how it
matters. We're talking psychological gender self-image here, not
physical gender.
I do agree that Ranma's reaction isn't right, though. EVen if he's come
to accept Ukyo as a man now, he wouldn't remember her as always having
been one.
