Heavy Metal
A Sailor Moon/MechWarrior Crossover
By: Sailor MechWarrior (sailormech@hotmail.com)
Sailor Moon is the property of Naoko Takeuchi and the many
distributors of her work.
MechWarrior is the property of FASA Corp. and Activision
Inc and their affiliates.
This is my first attempt of a published fanfiction,
please keep this in mind when sending C&C.
As I am an avid Manga reader, some manga-esque notes
will be found throughout the story (in parenthesis) to convey
the characters feelings.

Heavy Metal - Prologue
Tsukino Usagi walked gingerly down the street, admiring
all of the small shops and large stores alike, as well as
the merchandise within. Tomorrow would be August third,
and Mamoru's birthday. Usagi, being her absent minded
self, had forgotten and was left with only twenty-four
hours to get him a gift.
Having only one day created problems for Usagi. True,
she could give Mamoru a lacy pink dress, he would be
pleased that she had gotten a gift. Not enthralled, but
pleased. However, Usagi always did try a little harder
than that. They both tried to get each other uniquely
special gifts on birthdays and holidays, but Mamoru was a
hard man to buy for.
Mamoru bought anything he needed and his few hobbies
were expensive, but Usagi always managed to get him
something special. This year she considered some cologne
she had seen advertised, called Ryuu. However, Mamoru,
for the half dozen or so years she had known him, only
used one brand, Kata.
Deciding against that, and having no more ideas, Usagi
was now wandering through the Ginza district hoping
to get some ideas from what she saw. It was a warm
August afternoon, yet the crowded streets continued to
flow, despite the heat.
Suddenly, Usagi felt a shove from behind, she toppled and
fell onto a nearby vacant bench. She quickly scanned the
crowd for a culprit. "Hentai baka," she cursed under her
breath, "at this rate I'll never manage to get Mamo-chan
a..." Usagi sat awestruck at her strange twist of fate as
she stared at the sign on a new shop across the street.
'Now Open! *Moroboshi Gifts* Perfect gifts for the man in
your life!' "Domo Arigato, Kami-sama! This is the perfect
place!" Usagi made her way across the street and into the shop,
"This won't take long."
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
After spending a hour in the shop, Usagi had decided to
choose one of two items for Mamoru. "What would he like
better, a necklace with a small jade tiger, or a black
bedside clock with a rose painted on it?
Suddenly a heavy hand fell on her shoulder. "What a
coincidence to see you here, Usako." Usagi instantly
face-faulted and dropped the merchandise she had been
holding. (Nani-yo!?) "What are you doing here, Mamoru?"
she inquired, covering her obvious reason for being there.
"I've been working here for months Usako, didn't I tell
you? I've known the owner since Highschool, she asked
me do do some interior design work for the place."
"You mean you did all of this? Wow, I never knew you
could decorate."
"Well, thanks for the enthusiasm, (Gomen.) but yeah,
I designed most of the main room and Atako and I did all
of the work ourselves."
From across the room a shout reaches Mamoru,
"Mamoru-san, I need some help putting this edging up!
Could you give me a hand?!"
"Sure, be right there Atako! Usako, that's the owner,
Mitsoshi Atako. Why don't you go over with me and I'll
introduce you?"
The pair drift across the room to the only dimly lit
corner, where a lovely brunette, dressed in work clothes,
toiled to press a thin strip of wallpaper into the junction
between the ceiling and wall, which she was barely able
to reach. She was pretty really. Her hair was chestnut
brown, tied back in a long ponytail. She had a slender,
shapely body and a beautiful, innocent face, with ice blue
stormcloud eyes. Sweat from a hard day'a work glistened
on her cheeks, and made her honey-colored skin glow.
"Atako, I'd like you to meet Usagi, my girlfriend."
Mamoru said with a smile. She turned to him, her frown
of determination rising to a contented smile.
"Ahoyo Gozaimasu! So your the one Mamoru-san always
tells me about? Pleased to meet you!" She smiled charmingly.
"Ahoyo," Usagi replied, "I love what you've done with the
place. It makes it feel so..."
She was cut off unexpectedly at this point and a
horrifying grinding of gears was heard as a large
mechanical tank crashed through the back wall. Wicked
gravelly laughter rang out as innocent shoppers ran for
cover. Blood seemed to be everywhere, screams peirced
the air, children cried. Through all of the chaos, the
laughter continued, cackling with growing intensity as
unprotected bystanders were being crushed under
mountains of rubble. Usagi herself was pinned under a piece
of metal that had fallen from the ceiling, and she fought back
tears that threatened to take away her control.
As the dust and floating debris began to clear from the air,
the machine could be seen, grinding away in the middle of the
room. The shelves of once beautiful merchandise were
crushed, and shards of their former wares were scattered all
over the carpet.
The machine was hideous. A dingy gray-green cast, built
like a living thing; with articulated limbs and a torso. A
hatch on top of the 'head' flipped open and the head of a young
man with platinum, shoulder-length hair appeared. He was
laughing psychotically. He spoke in perfect Japanese. "People
of Japan! Behold what is to come to you! The Clan Wolverine
has come to take your city! We will begin here!!" A round fired
from the massive cannon, scaring the crowd witless and
decimated a back wall.
Usagi could not stand for this! Her cheeks flushed and her
knuckles turned white. Fury and adrenaline flooded into her
like a tsunami.
"MOON CRISIS... MAKE UP!!!"
