A while back, I noticed a post with an Admin tag that mentioned
explaining the recent FFML outage once everything was back up and
running. Now, I haven't seen that post yet, but from what I can tell,
the list is back up and running. I'm not worried about it; I was just
waiting for it to post this, but I'll go ahead and do it now. :)
Honestly, all I'm posting this for is to say thank you to White Wolf
and whoever else lost sleep and/or hair trying to get this list back up
and running. We FFML'ers can be a vocal lot, but I didn't notice
anybody (myself included) thanking the list owner for even BOTHERING to
get it back up and running. Maybe they did so in private, maybe not;
either way, shame on us - the majority of the first posts that came
through once the list was back up were "Is the list down?" posts, in
direct violation of the FAQ. You'd think we'd know better by now.
I don't know how many people don't know this already, but... the
FFML is privately owned, by someone who (IMO) has the patience of a
saint. It's not OUR list, folks - it's WW's. Granted, WW let's us play
with it, but still... :)
Thank you for getting the list back up and running, WW, admins.
You've all taken your share of grief while running this beast, and I for
one really appreciate the fact that you're still willing to do so.
