Shonen
Yuu Yuu Hakusho fic

Well, I'm a newbie here...but all c&c are acceptable ^_^

Note I put in the title * Shonen * not * Shonen-Ai *. Shonen-Ai (male-male relationship) and yaoi are just not my cup of tea. Still, even with that cleared out, I hope that this fanfic goes out swell. BTW, although this fic isn't about Shonen-Ai, it can be pretty suggestive (rest assured, Kurama remains a male here). In addition, even if it ain't Shonen-Ai, it doesn't necessarily mean that there are no yaois lurking around...or else this wouldn't be such an interesting fic.

A few more notes before proceeding:

Shuichi Minamino just stared blankly and the handsome, tall bishounen in front of him. And sighed. < How could I put this gently? >
"Well, did'ya like the flowers?" the brown-haired youth asked, anticipation clear in his voice. This only made Minamino sigh some more.
"To tell you honestly...the flowers were nice..." Minamino began.
	"And?"
	"I really can't accept them."
"Nonsense!" cried the boy, a spark of hope lighting up in him. < So, she's the traditional shy-type kind of girl... > he thought to himself.
"Because..." the redhead kitsune (fox) demon continued, totally ignoring him. "I'm really a boy"
"......." was the guy's witty response.
Sighing *yet* again (Shuichi Minamino's not too keen on hurting people...unless necessary), Minamino scurried off away from the very sorry scene of a very broken-hearted batchmate.
"Why do I have to get into such things?" Minamino asked to no one in particular, rewarding himself with odd looks (for those who don't know what just happened) and snickers (for those who do).

***

Ever since the he stepped into {insert name of Minamino's school *here*} school, everyday has been like this. He has his share of admirers...half of which are male and half of those males *know* he's a male. It can be taxing to Shuichi Minamino, good son of Shiori Minamino...plus, downright embarrassing to the once feared kitsune demon known as Kurama. But his admirers were not the only ones at fault here. He admits that his long, red hair hasn't exactly been helping him alleviate his problem, but he wouldn't even consider cutting it. So he decided, once and for all, to simply ignore such things. If they think of him as a woman (or otherwise), then that's their problem. Shuichi Minamino is above such things.
"Hello, miss...you seem all alone...may I accompany you?"
	"......"
Nevertheless, kitsune demon or not, Minamino is still a human being deep in his heart. Who could blame the guy for being pissed once in a while? Even Minamino (long a fuse he has, I believe his limits...did someone say Toguro Ani?
"I am a guy. Please leave me alone. Thank you" Minamino said in a calm, unnerving voice that sent shivers to the base of the guy's spine.
Sighing (yet again), Minamino leaves yet another hapless, dumbstruck teenager. So, two in a row in just one day... today must be a good day.

As darkness began to set in and the sky turned red, a youth stood in the hallway of a school where he gazes the dwindling figure of...
	< A red-haired goddess. > He thought.
< You resemble her so much...the hair, the eyes, and that smile...I have found you again, Asuka! >
With a whisper of a sigh, and a last stare at the blur that was Shuichi Minamino, the youth left.

(No, it ain't NGE...he ain't Shinji.)
***

Shuichi Minamino is a good boy. He would never leave his house without his mothers permission. He always does what he is told. He is such an obedient boy.
Usually he leaves Kurama to do the disobeying. Which makes him think, at times, that he has three instead of two personalities...the good son, Shuichi; the cruel kitsune demon thief back in Makai (demon world); and Kurama, the gray shade of the two. He can either be the human or the demon. Therefore, in his point of view, Kurama is his only * true self *.
What got him to stay up late in the middle of the night for hours end? A little koorime named Hiei. He always stayed on this spot to wait for the 'little
bastard'(as Kuwabara would call him). Tonight he was supposed to alert Hiei to join him and the other tanteis to investigate some strange happenings going on. Koenma even said that he'd offer Hiei's freedom in exchange for his services in this mission. Needless to say, the mission seems to be pretty big this time.
< What's taking him so long? > Kurama thought, worried of what might have happened to his koorime friend. < Has something happened, Hiei? >

***

Two figures stood in the darkness of an old alley. One was one a defensive stance, the other looming on the said figure.
"Wha-who are you?" Hiei seethed, his hands grasping the hilt of his katana.
"I seek only one thing, koorime..." the dark figure in chain-mail armor said, in a blank monotone. "A soul."
"Humph." was the fire demons response. He was always good with words. Another word he is good at using is...
	"Ja-ou-en-satsu-ken-koku-ryuu-ha!"
< No holding back now...his powers are too incredible to underestimate. > Hiei thought.
The dark figure easily evaded the black dragon spirit heading towards him with impressive speed, despite his heavy chain-mail armor. He then ripped apart his chest which revealed...nothing. A cavity in his own body. It sucked the black dragon into itself like a vacuum. Hiei was very shocked to see the still-empty cavity after it ate his attack whole.
"You're a spirited one." The now visible figure said in a cadaverous tone, unfazed by the events that unfolded. He seemed rather bored, with his bishounen looks looking so flat and one-dimensional. He certainly didn't mind the gaping hole of his chest.
"Any more tricks, koorime?"
Hiei flinched. He felt very exhausted from using the kokuryuha at such an immediate time {sooo anti-climactic}. But he wasn't the one to give up easily. If anything, his pride won't allow it.
The being stared at the koorime blankly. He merely stood there, chest cavity showing, waiting patiently for Hiei's next attack...
Disappearing into a blur, Hiei slashed the monster in chain mail about twenty-two in a second or less. His sword swished through the seemingly undead person like a knife through butter. Or through air...
Hiei looked at his prospect warily. Perfectly intact, he was giving him an unnerving stare. "Bravo."
As he spoke the words, he shifted a punched the koorime. Several bones shattered from the impact of his punch, causing Hiei to lurch forward and cough blood. "I leave you now. You have nothing for me."
So Hiei lay there in the alley, battered and beaten. He had to stifle a gasp as the being spoke his last words before the koorime fainted into unconsciousness.
"It is Minamino Shuichi that I want."

***

To be Continued...

I know...very unclear premise...it * is * my first fic anyway. I just hope things would get clearer by the second chapter. Bye!
