For the Sake of the Children Part 10
by Anand Rao <jouve25@hotmail.com>
http://www.gsm.uci.edu/~arao02/

A Ranma/NGE xover - the Ranma-Ryouga interaction is excellent
though Asuka mooning over Ranma feels a tad overdone. This chapter
is "mainly setup" with not much action but makes good reading
nonetheless.

Perdition
by Jonathan Wang <yaanathn@hotmail.com>

A shortfic - not sure if present tense achieves the desired
effect. Very postmodern/existentialist feel about the piece
which does go some way towards the author's stated aim "portraying
Shinji's lost figure". Formating problem - non-ASCII characters for
the quotation marks.

Rei's Birthday Present part 3
by Chris Burke <wyrm@engin.umich.edu>
http://www.umich.edu/~wyrm/abp/fanfic.html

Misato and Shinji get Rei a birthday present - we witness the
gradual consequences of that action. These subsequent parts lack
the tightness of the first part which built up to a satisfying
conclusion - however, to be fair, the author seems to be setting
up further plot developments, working towards something larger.
Overall, another welcome installment of a fic that I enjoy -
mainly due to the sensitivity with which Rei is written.

Garden of EVA 2:2 - The Theater Blows
by Jim Lazar <jimlazar@earthlink.net>

This work and its author needs no introduction - he still manages
to make us pay attention and keep us on our toes. Who *cares* if
the alternate Rei is being OOC!? Yeow! What fun and frovility! Plus
an installment, eagerly awaited, arrives like clockwork every month.

A Normal Day
by jose argao <ex_fuk@yahoo.com>

Here's something stupid for y'all
saith the author. I would agree - which really is a shame since
this had real potential to be really funny. The moral is that
instead of sending stuff off the moment you write it, it usually
helps to sit on it for a day or two and think about it.

For a start, this fic starts in narrative but then switches to
a quasi-script form. The author should make up his mind. And the
jokes seem a little forced - they seem strung together rather than
part of a narrative flow.
