Just thought I'd correct a couple of things.

The Evas seen in the anime are numbered 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, and 05.
Rei's is 00, Shinji's is 01, Asuka's is 02. 03 was destroyed before it was
completed when the factory was blown sky-high (it was being built in
America, if I recall correctly), and 04 was invaded and taken over by
Bardiel (one of the angels) while Touji was test-piloting it. It was
destroyed by Shinji. 05 is the model number of the mass-production Eva's
you see in the movie, that glide down on wings. If there is a new model,
it
would be numbered 06 (or 07, if you want to assume another version was
being
worked on elsewhere).
The Unit 05 are commonly known as MPMs, or Mass-Production Models. Nine
were built.
No new models were built, because it SEELE belived them to be superior to
other units having incorporated S2 Unit and DPS into their structure.
I'd be inclined to belive them, though. Despite being clumsily slow and
acting
more like an animal than a human (makes you wonder about their DPS
system...),
they can take massive amounts of damage that would have easily put any other
Units out of comission permaently.

Unit 04 was being built in america prior to it's disappearance into a
Dirac's Sea(Think of it like a whole in the fabric of space).
It disappeared during the testing of S2 unit. It's HYPOTHESIZED that the
Unit disappeared into the Sea of Dirac.
Unit 03 was the one destroyed by Unit 01 during the dummy plug's first
and only successful activation after it was taken over by the thirteenth
Angel Bardiel. As for the movies the mass production evas look the same
but each of them have their own designation.
That's partially incorrect. Unit 03 was already infected by the thirteenth
Angel during it's voyage from US to Japan. In that episode, if you've watched
carefully, just as the flying transport carrying Unit 03 passes through a
cloud,
there's a pinkish flash. Obiviously the 13th Angel. :)
Namely Unit 05 - Unit 13. They are not all listed as Unit 05.
That's true, but they're all 05 Models.
The S-3 organ is a LOT tougher than that, and is usually located
somewhere around the chest. In hand-to-hand combat, it often took a
lot of
beating to break an S-3 organ.
It's S-2 not S-3 and except for Unit 01 later in the series they are little
more than extremely hard half-spheres in the evas and the power source
for the Angels. Although the form of the S2 varies with each Angel.
The form of the S2 units are pretty much conistent for all Angels. It's just
a matter of the unit being visible or not. I'd be willing to bet that they
aren't
half-spheres, but a whole one, regardless of the being, be it an Evangelion
or
Angel.
