Dan's been a villain from the beginning, he's just getting more
desperate now.
Xellos is annoying enough to be the original. too bad Lina
can't show up, that might make this better or worse for
Dan.
Sorry, I don't think Miss Inverse will be making an apperance in this
story, Dan might actually enjoy that. He's a slayers fan, and has thus
far showed the ability to use two of her three most powerful spells. Plus
extra's, and a few things that haven't quite been revealed just yet.
I am unfamiliar with this part of the show, did they try to
poison them in the original?
No, Dan put the poison in the food when they weren't looking, Xellos
ruined his plans and he dropped the bottle. His luck holding out to keep
him from being a true villain the girls though the woman had tried to
poison them. He just covered his own ass by blaming her that way. He has
also shown that he is unwilling to hurt people not directly involved with
the story. I.E. if he kills them he won't go home anyway so why bother?
So he comes up with an excuse so they won't bother her.
