[Hey! Guess what? That's right! I got another stupid idea! And much like Mint Julep 1/2, this is a little spammish stand alone deal, so don't bother telling me about grammar or anything. Just tell me what you think of the premise. Thanks!]
[And remember, none of these characters are mine. They belong to super-cool people in Japan!]
Bakusai Chouhatsu
-Forrest "DUNOTS" Walker
Ryoga stepped onto the grounds of Nerima high, full of newfound confidence. Because of his penultimately awful sense of direction, it had been nearly two months since he had seen Nerima. Upon spying Ranma walking casually along, he remembered the reason for his last little trip.
Ranma had beaten him again, this time worse than ever. He had run away, hoping to find Cologne. She could generally be counted upon to give some quality training. Unfortunately, he missed, and ended up getting some entirely different training indeed. It was just his luck to run into his uncle when he needed help the most. Yes, now Ryoga was strong enough to realize something he never had before.
He was the greatest martial artist alive.
"Hey Ryoga!" Ranma shouted cheerfully, jogging to Ryoga's side, "What's up? You've been gone longer than normal."
Ryoga snapped out of whatever thought he had been in and grinned madly at Ranma. It was a little creepy. "Just some training."
"Really? Why dont'cha show me what you learned?" Ranma asked with genuine interest.
"Sure thing, idiot!" Ryoga shouted, dropping his pack to the floor and assuming a fighting stance.
It was at that moment that Ranma finally noticed something odd about Ryoga. He was well groomed. His hair was slicked back and neat, his shirt brighter yellow than ever, and his confidence was greatly increased. He hadn't just gone off into the woods like he normally did. Someone had taught him something, and Ranma could tell it was at least as strong as the toughening Ryoga did with Cologne, judging from Ryoga's actions.
Ranma needed to know who it was.
Ranma was about to ask when he dodged a fierce spinning parasol uppercut from Ryoga. That was certainly new. While it would be painful to catch, it went nearly straight up, and left him terribly open upon landing. When Ryoga touched down, Ranma lashed out at his exposed chest, only to find air as Ryoga dropped to the floor.
Ranma stared at Ryoga. He had never seen anything like it. Ryoga had used every ounce of strength, speed and skill to roll (yes, roll) in a ball away from Ranma, and suddenly leap out of it, just out of range. All of that effort led up to...
"What a dumbass!" Ryoga shouted, pointing at Ranma casually. A taunt.
He tried to figure out all the forms that relied on taunting, but there were only a couple, and they were both part of Anything-Goes. This was something new, and totally goofy. That invariably meant life-threatening danger.
Ranma stared for a moment before opening his mouth. "So who taught ya? Where'd ya train, Ryoga?"
Ryoga leapt into the air, swinging his feet at Ranma over and over, giving him no time to think. Amazingly, he answered the question nonchalantly all the while. "My uncle taught me. He has a dojo. Don't ask me where, though..."
When Ryoga's onslaught of kicks ended, Ranma gasped, "What form?"
Ryoga chuckled evilly. "Saikyo-Ryu."
Ranma stopped momentarily, stunned by this. While he had never heard of this style, it would explain why Ryoga was so confident. If he were using the so called "strongest" style, Ranma would do well to be wary.
"If you think that's surprising," Ryoga stated plainly, "You've GOT to see this."
Ryoga, in the middle of a series of punches, pulled his right hand back only a second. It wasn't long, but Ranma could feel the ki he was gathering. A ki attack you could throw into a combo like that was bad news. Ranma tried to leap away, but only got a kick in the gut for his efforts.
"GADOH-KEN!" Ryoga shouted, thrusting his ki-covered fist forward.
Ranma put his arm up to block the energy, as he was still moving backwards from the kick, and couldn't recover enough balance to sidestep in time. The last thing he saw was a ball of purple fire coming towards his face.
Strangely enough, it didn't hit. After about two feet, it just fizzled out, leaving Ryoga's grinning countenance behind it. Ranma was confused, to say the least.
Ryoga started laughing, thinking about how easy it was to rattle Ranma. He laughed even more when he remembered that the hustle was just beginning.
"Damn!" Ryoga shouted, "I thought that was stronger!"
Ranma leapt back into the fray, more confident now, but still holding back after he heard the name "Saikyo-Ryu." And well he should be. Ryoga threw a couple more gadoh-kens, each only doing minimal damage. While they were fast and took nearly no ki to form, they were reasonably useless, and Ranma now undestood that. However, Ranma was not aware that Ryoga also knew that. He kept using them as though he expected them to suddenly get better, and he could sense Ranma falling into the trap.
"Dammit! This time for real, Ranma!" Ryoga yelled, pulling back his one fist yet again.
Ranma advanced, smirking.
"Shinkuu Gadoh-Ken revised! Gadoh Moko-ken!"
Ranma almost stopped, but then continued, undaunted. Ryoga grinned as he threw the yellow fireball, which differed in appearance from a gadoh-ken only in color.
Suddenly, Ranma realized why he should avoid this attack. Something about the name had nagged at him, and he realized what it was when he saw the color. Ryoga was confident. Ryoga made a yellow fireball. It had the word "Moko" in the name. That was bad.
Unfortunately, Ranma realized this only too late, and got blasted across the courtyard by a blast barely the size of a basketball. He was about to pass out when he saw Ryoga charging his ki for the most furious attack yet. He seemed to be concentrating all of his energy into something, and Ranma didn't want to find out what it was.
"Saikyo-Ryu custom finish!" Too late. "Bakusai Chouhatsu!"
Suddenly, Ryoga shot Ranma the finger, stomping on the ground at the same time, causing it to explode. "You Idiot!"
Ranma took offence and tried to get up, only to fall again as Ryoga stomped a second time, now pointing to his butt. "Kiss my ass, stupid!"
Ranma was getting angry, and Ryoga was getting closer. This time, he was shrugging. "Why do even bother with such a weakling?"
Truly incensed, Ranma leapt at Ryoga, only to be caught in mid-air by an eye-poke. "Do you like how it feels?"
Dropping to the ground slightly before Ryoga, Ranma felt cold water splash around him, turning him female. Ryoga was standing above him, holding a bucket of water in one hand, and his chin in the other. "Just like a girl to take a fight personally..."
Blinded by rage, Ranma jumped up to strangle Ryoga, only to have his head stepped on, reneding him unable to move. "Looks like I win... Big surprise. And you know why, Ranma?"
Ranma groaned.
"That's right! Because I'm the best fighter in the world! And I owe it all to my uncle Dan!"
Just before passing out, Ranma dedicated himself to finding this incredible warrior. He would train under Dan Hibiki.
Ryoga smiled broadly, showing almost all his teeth. He had finally beaten Ranma. To punctuate Ranma's loss of consciousness, he leaned forward and put out his right hand, giving a big thumbs-up.
"That's a little something I learned from my uncle!" Ryoga said to the gathering throng, pulling out a stack of 8x10 glossies, "Now, who wants my autograph?"
