Just something that's been bouncing around in my head for a while. Should I
continue it? You tell me.

Heed well, for on the second eclipse of his eighteenth year, ye shalt know
him.
A Trainer of Pokemon, who is without peer
Blessed by the Phoenix,
revealed to him is the King
Our freedom from the Dark One,
the world, in his hands lie everything
The Dark One's child doth accompany him,
as does Water and Rock, While the Cat, Vanity and
Wealth dog his heels
He must seek out the Pokemon Who Is A Man that guards the Stone Of the
Heavens and from that stone, he must carve the Sword and then go to center of
all that he believes for the confrontation with all that is Evil.
If Defeat is the outcome, all is lost,
But if victory is the result, he shall be known throughout the world.
For he is the Chosen One,
Lose him, and Darkness doth claim us all.
Professor Franklin Oak sighed as he stared at the handwritten text on the
inside of the back cover of the carefully preserved book.
The book was the personal journal of Doctor Livianni Pierce, the founder of
the Pokemon League. In front of three witnesses, the good doctor had been
seized by what could only be called religious fervor and had scrawled those
words.
It was a procephy, many believed, a procephy, pure and simple. Others scoffed
at the idea, attributing them to the act of a senile old man. Oak had to
admit that it was a possibility. Pierce had been nearly a hundred and six at
the time. There were others of course, ones that identified the others it
named and other such, but Peirce's was the big one. The link that tied them
all together.
Sighing, he closed the book as the phone rang.
"Audio only." Oak said, without looking up.
"Hello Professor." Came the earnest young voice.
"Bill." Oak said, genuinely pleased to hear from his young protégé. "What's
new?"
"Not much Professor." Bill replied. "I checked into those records you asked
me to and you're right I'm afraid. He has encountered the Phoenix and the
King. Its in his reports to the League, and I can vouch for the King myself."
"Blast!" Oak swore, slamming his fist down onto the desk. "Why did it have to
be him?"
"We knew he was special to begin with." Bill said. "His raw skill in the Camp
proved that."
"I know." Oak sighed. "I just don't think he's ready."
"Maybe not. But the signs match. He's the only trainer in the League who's
both 18 and has had two eclipses in the same year."
"I know." Oak passed a weary hand in front of his eyes. "I'll deal with it.
End call." Sighing, he got up and went over to the small computer and
composed a short message, sending it out to every Center across the world.
It was only a few hours later that the phone rang.
"Default." Oak said, indicating both Audio and Video.
"Hi Professor." Said the young man on the screen. "I got your message, what's
up?"
"I'm wiring you money Ash." Oak said. "I want you and your friends to take
the next plane back to Pallet. We need to talk, you and I."
