Besides, law or no law, no WAY was she going to try
to force the
lad who had killed Saffron- SAFFRON, dear Gods,
SAFFRON- to go to
China. She liked her little restaurant in one
piece.
Her little body, also.
I really like this passage. All too often, people
assume that Cologne is an unbeatable character. But
there are hints in the canon that she feared and
respected Herb to a degree (whom she was NOT an enemy
with). And I truly doubt she stands a chance against
Saffron.
It's nice to see Cologne portrayed as a wise,
rational person who knows her limits. Great job!
