Well, I've been getting a lot of post asking me: It's a good idea, but
why can't they make a woman who can have children? [Insert some genetic
knowledge of some sort here.]
The fact is, that the world of Saber Marionette J is near impossible to
create anyway. A planet of females would be more believable [A good idea
for a fic btw...] All vertebreted embrios are inherently female anyway,
it takes an extra chromosome to make them male. It would actually be
harder to make a world full of males than a world of only females or even
a world of both. Plus with intersex gender changing surgery the way it is
today, imagine what they could do a few hundred years from now? The idea
behind SMJ itself is highly unlikely anyway, so why sweat the small
stuff?
Unless there was some other reason for the impossiblity of cloning
females. Possibly the same thing that kept Koto from cloning a fertile
woman? Perhaps there is more to it than meets the eye?
It will be a major plot point in the coming chapters, and a few dark
secrets about the SMJ world will be revealed. This is part of the reason
the 'real girl' must go into hiding.
