No. 5 of the long thought to be dead Shin Seiki Evangelion manga has been published in Chinese version. Original Japanese version was probably released much earlier, ending speculation that it was already cancelled. Sadamoto-san apologized profusely (at least according to what is on the dust jacket of the manga...) for the *delay* and promised that the next issue would not take two years in the making.
Storyline wise, it appears it has taken a marked shift from the original version by Anno-san. For example, in this latest issue, it can be infered from Gendo's words that there are only TWELVE Angels. And the infamous kissing scene between Asuka and Shinji ended up hilariously aborted in one of the scenes. ^_^ Once again, Shinji is shown having more spine than the T.V series/Movie Shinji.
The newly released manga issue is indeed new inspiration for any Evangelion fanfic authors out there. If anyone require any information on the new issue, please reply privately to this message. I try my best to answer them.
