Magical Knights Rayearth and Pokemon are both series that involve elemental
attacks and they've seen a few crossovers lately, but I've got my own ideas
about which pokemon would choose each knight. (Like cats, pokemon seem to
choose their so-called owners.)
For Umi I first considered a Tentacruel, but I think she deserves something
a little more classy than a spineless blob of jelly.
The Tentacruel raises an eyebrow at this and swims off to find a
Meowth-piece to give voice to it's complaints.
So, given all of Umi's dragon attacks, why not a Dragonair?
"Hyper Beam!" Umi points at the target and the Dragonair leans down to
take a sighting down Umi's arm then blasts the target.
Hikaru watches the Majikarp flail about before being KO'ed by a second
hyperbeam attack then carps in, "Slam does more average damage, or haven't
you taught it that yet?"
"Energy denial is a perfectly valid tactic, and have you ever tried to get
fish out of dragon scales?" Umi motions for the Dragonair to roll over
so she can polish its belly scales.
As for Fuu, she needs some flying creature and at first I thought a Fearow
would do, but she kept confusing it with Ferio.
The Fearow mirrors Ferio's motions as Fuu looks on confused.
Eventually the stage hands come to take the Fearow away. It tries to Drill
Peck them, but they're ready with the net.
So I figured a Butterfree would suit Fuu better.
Fuu hugs her Butterfree tightly and takes a snootful of the sleeping
powder.
The Butterfree pokes at Fuu's arm as she snoozes, then hurumps and pulls
out a magic marker.
But I really don't think some dumb lazy lizard would fit at all well with
Hikaru.
The Charizard carefully measures the range to the author then decides he's
not worth discarding two energy cards over and goes back to sleep.
And we already know that Hikaru likes dogs, so why not a Arcanine? It's a
ferocious attacker, a dear companion and just think of the recreational
possibilities.
Hikaru (and the Arcanine) blush even redder than usual, "He means playing
frisbee!" Hikaru makes a tossing motion.
"Arf!" The huge dog bounds off and returns moments later with an iron
manhole cover grasped in its mouth.
"Where did you get that Archie?"
In the distance can be heard some yelps of surprise, three splashes and
James' voice, "Looks like Team Rocket is going down the drain again!"
"You better put that back," Hikaru points back the way the dog came from,
"Before they escape."
The Arcanine looks dejected, but sees the resolve in Hikaru's eyes and
tosses the cover back.
Clatter. "Ouch!" Clatter. "Ouch!" Clatter, clatter clatter.
Splash. Splash! Splash!
