I realize this request is on a bit of short notice, but I need, as they say,
'suggestions from the audience.' And seeing that the show is on tonight at
8pm eastern (7 central... aw c'mon, you know the drill), I thought this would
be a perfect chance for y'all to check it out and come up with inspiration.

Many of you know that the Ucchan is gonna be open for business over the
AnimeCentral2000 festivities as a crash pad (more details on this in future
notices) and, hopefully, as a party venue. In keeping with this, I've been
acquiring several interesting titles for airing at the Ucchan (and if folks
wanna bring stuff of their own to show, terrific - we've got the space and
the screening rooms). Additionally, Sean Hayden of Fanfic Radioplay
Productions plans to have a setup, and we should be able to do some live
radioplays, time permitting.

One radioplay we have in mind is to do an anime version of Whose Line Is It
Anyway? And seeing as it's an comedy improv thingy, we need suggestions from
the audience for stuff for our "contestants" (and we'll need some of those,
too) to perform. Some of the traditional games we hope to include:

WEIRD NEWSCASTERS (a bit tricky, this, as it tends to be a bit visual. We
also need an opening and closing news-show sounding theme): The anchor is
generally the staight man (although it's up to that person whether or not to
make up weird/funny news or *really* play it straight), while the co-anchor,
sports desk, and weatherman each have some strange quirk that affects their
ability to report the news. What we need are some interesting anime-related
quirks (for example, the weatherman could be Ranma, and when he mentions rain
in the forecast, a female could take his place reporting the rest of the
weather - hey, we can *do* THAT on radio)

DATING GAME: Similar situation; in this case, the 'straight' man is the one
pretending to be the girl - the three 'bachelors' have the quirks. So we
need a few more anime-related quirks here.

A twist that might not work on radio with this game - the audience knows what
each 'bachelor's quirks are, but the 'bachelorette' doesn't. Rather, she has
to guess once time's up. Still trying to figure out how to make that work.

SCENES FROM A HAT: One of my favorites. Quick, one-line suggestions on
post-it note size slips of paper that get dumped into a hat before the game.
The contestants take turns making one-line responses to whatever the host
pulls out (possible example "Excuses Happosai Might Make":"Uh, they're not
panties... I just blew two holes in my favorite handkerchief" well, I didn't
say it was a *good* example). Naturally, I'd like suggestions from y'all for
the contestants to take a whack at. Dreiser, I'd like to see what you in
particular can come up with because you... no, wait, that's Scenes from an
*Elevator* that you do...

FILM/THEATRE/TV STYLES: Several of the contestants do a scene (I'm
considering having Ranma show up at NERV headquarters: "Sixth Child reporting
for duty," only to find out that Gendo had arranged for him to be engaged to
Rei III or what-have-you) which starts out normally (well... you know what I
mean), but then the action stops, and the contestants are required to
continue the scene in a certain particular theatrical/film/television style
(film noir is a favorite, for instance); this happens several times before
the host figures the contestants (and the audience) has had enough, and buzzes
them out. What I need, obviously, are film/TV/theatre styles that we might
perform. And a better scene (or at least a funnier one), if you think of any.

That's about it for now... I'd love to do a Hoe-down, but lack of
instrumental skills (and equipment) puts the kibosh on that for now. Oh...
and we might do well for some commercials, so if anyone has any from Lurker's
old challenge of a year or so ago... or any other adfics, send 'em to me, and
we might just use 'em. Keep in mind that this is for radio, so there are
certain limitations on what's feasible.

Private replies only... trust me, sugar, you'll hear your stuff if we pick it.

Domou arigatou gozaimasu.

Itsu mo,
Ucchan ^_^
