Me thinks one has not yet had watched the Patlabor Movie2 right?
In that case let me give some spoilers.
Um, yes I have. Both subbed and dubbed (and there are major differences-
this, by the way, was PLANNED with the dubbed version in mind, before I
realized exactly how different the two were, so officially this episode is
movie 2 dubbed based). I own both, and have watched both frequently...
though movie 2 is by far the WORST Patlabor anime that I've seen, IMO.
It's boring and has WAY too many plot-holes. That was partly why I started
this fic to begin with.
Shinobu wouldn't act this way with regards to Tsuge since their
relationship broke up in a terrible manner. Tsuge, the prime proponent
in the research of Labors used in battle formed a research group called
the Tsuge School. Most of the younger officers in the police labor
division came from this school. Including Shinobu.
Er, their relationship broke up with a last postcard he sent after his
mission failed. True, there WAS a scandal, but nothing said that THAT was
what ended there relationship. I don't really see how that conflicts with
my story. And I was under the impression the Tsuge school may have been
part of the police, or maybe the police labor squad.
At the same time Tsuge trying to prove this research was right
volunteered for a UN mission. Labor use in the jungle is not advice.
His whole company of labors was wiped out. And after that there is the
whole story for Patlabor movie 2.
Right, his whole company was wiped out. But you note if you watch the
movie that she says she got one last postcard AFTER that mission... This
is that postcard. I know everything you've said, but I don't think I got
the same impression of time you did. It seemed to me that there was time
between the two events- time where Tsuge might be trying to get his
reputation back, and finally deciding to take the UN mission as a last
resort of trying to get his 'message' out.

by mail frequently, but they hadn't seen each other in more than a

I dont think that thats possible. Both Tsuge and Shinobu was forced
apart by the Division. And Tsuge immediately volunteered for the UN
mission after the scandal. Both had no time to meet each other and the
only mail Shinobu got from Tsuge was an poem- which was a clue that he
was going to start an coup'de'ta against the Diet.
Hmm... I didn't get that from the movie. I did get that their career
seperated them, but not that it was 'right away' that he went on that
mission, nor that the DIRECT cause of the break-up was the scandal, just
that was why she was transferred to become Captain of the SV2 instead of
being placed in a better command slot. I did forget the postcard was a
poem, but that can be easily corrected. ("this is the last time I will
communicate with you, and so I leave you with a poem..." and stop her
reading there.)
All in all the whole core of your story is... well shot down unless you
planned it this way. Which would make me look like an ass by the way:)

Miyuki?(You'er under arrest) IT would be cute:)
There IS a name, I think- I've loaned out my tapes, but in the Original OAV
series, the niece shows up and she has a name there...
And Noa having a punctured colon too much just by being run over? The
riot police must have jumped on her a few time to got this kind of
injury.
Think cleats. And that the Riot Police were going out to injure the SV2
members, so they could even be wearing long cleats.... I know you can make
a one-inch deep wound in the knee sliding into a person with cleated shoes,
so knocking someone down and jumping on an unprotected area would be enough
to puncture a colon, I would think.
Will TSOH come out this month?
Maybe. Make that probably. I have most of my prereaders comments back,
and I don't really necessarily expect the rest (though if they DO come up
with comments, that would be nice) and just need to go through them and
make the revisions.
Motoko Chan: Is Tsuge gonna be the bad guy for the next mission? If he
is I got a few ideas...
Tsuge isn't gonna show up until the movie 2, which is third season for this
fic. In fact, he's probably not going to show up at all, since the second
movie IS going to happen....
