                    Part 2

Close to a week went by before the doctors allowed them to return to school.
Fortunately, or unfortunately as far as Serena was concerned, Amy had managed
to lay her hands on the make up work their teachers had assigned and had it
waiting for them.

It was lunch time before Lita had a chance to pursue what was on her mind.

"Hey Amy?"

"Hm?" Amy didn't look up from the Advanced Physics book she had her nose in.

"I've been meaning to ask, where have you been during the past week?" Amy
jumped like a startled rabbit.

Gotcha! Lita thought.

"I woke up in an alleyway." She said, her voice taking on the sing song
quality that some people use when reciting something previously committed to
memory. "And I somehow managed to make it home. Mom took me to the hospital."

"Which one?"

"Tokyo General."

"We were at Tokyo General." Lita said. "Didn't see you there." Amy was saved
from having to answer as the bell rang. "See you after school!" Lita called
as Amy quickly grabbed up her books and all but ran from the table. Feeling
oddly pleased, Lita tossed her lunch into the trashcan and sauntered towards
the building.
                **************
When Amy exited the school, Lita was waiting.

"Hey Ames!" She called. Amy almost dropped her books.

"Oh. Hi Lita." She said.

"Check out this neat book I found in the library."

"Book?"

"Yeah." Lita opened the book to the spot she had chosen and began reading
even as she kept an eye on Amy's face. "Werewolves are the most common of
what is scientifically known as lycanthropy." Amy turned several shades of
off-white. "Generally, a werewolf possesses three forms. Homid, which roughly
translates to human form. Lupushomid, which is a generally bipedal form
combining the traits of Homid and Lupus, and Lupus, or the pure wolf form."

"Interesting." Amy said, sounding sick.

"Isn't it?" Lita asked cheerfully then pretended to look at her watch.
"Whoops! Scout meeting in half an hour. Come on!" She snapped the book
closed, scooped up her bag, then grabbed Amy's arm and all but dragged her
down the steps to where the bus waited.
                **************
She knows. Whispered a voice deep in the recesses of Amy's mind. Why don't
you tell her?

There's no garuntee that she knows.

She suspects then. The voice said. Why else would she be suddenly interested
in a mythical creature?

"Hey Amy?" Amy looked up. Mina was peering at her intently. "You okay girl?
You're white as a sheet."

"F-fine." Amy stammered out. "Excuse me." With that, she got up and bolted
for the bathroom.

"Weird." Mina said.

"Maybe she's having her. . .uh. . ." Darien trailed off, his cheeks turning
red.

"Time of the month will do nicely Darien." Raye said reprovingly but she
could not hide the faint smile of amusement as he hastily changed the subject.
                **************
In the bathroom, Amy splashed cold water on her face. It made her feel a bit
better, but not by much.

What am I going to do? She silently asked her reflection.

Her reflection, looking back at her through bloodshot eyes, had no answer.
                **************
The moon cast its pale light down over the apartment building. Cars droned by
every so often, their engines seeming oddly loud.

Crouched in the shadows of an air conditioning unit on the building directly
across the street, Sailor Jupiter carefully surveyed the structure. It was a
good fifty stories high, with the occasional light showing through drapes.

The Dorashma, one of Tokyo's more exclusive Apartment homes boasted all the
amenities of a house. Three pools, Health club, a Garden, controlled entry,
cathedral ceilings, the works.

Moving like a shadow, the Senshi of Thunder leapt across the street to the
light pole, using it as a springboard to carry her over the wall and into the
trees.

Remaining perfectly still, she stretched out her senses. She could smell the
trees, the flowers in the garden. The hum of air conditioners and cars. The
sound of a TV comedy from somewhere on the next block drifted on the wind.

Her eyes narrowed and the shadows that covered the garden vanished as her
night vision came into play.

Allowing a small smirk to play about her lips, she dropped from the tree and
sprinted across the lawn to the shadows of the steps where she crouched and
waited.

Eventually, a man in a security guard's uniform pushed open the door and
stood on the steps, lighting a cigarette. Like lightning, Jupiter zipped into
the building itself.

Inside, she stretched out with her hearing as she roamed the bottom floor.

After a while, from a vent, she heard the sound of voices chanting. Yes! She
exhaulted silently and went to work on the screws holding the vent in place.

"If Amy is a were," She muttered as she hauled herself into the duct and
began to work her way along its length. "then it stands to reason that her
Pack, if she has one, would live in the same building." Pleased with her
logic, Jupiter made her way towards the chanting.
                **************
"Bloody hell." She muttered as she peered through the grate. The view was not
pretty.

Perhaps six dozen werewolves, all in what her book had described as
Lupushomid stood gathered before an alter, each dressed in a black hooded
monk's robe. She could smell blood and occasionally, she caught sight of one
of the were with blood covering its lips and snout and what appeared to be
the remains of a cow or some other large animal on the alter

Great. I come looking for Weres and I find Weres attending church. She
thought and took out the infrared camera. I wonder who or what they worship?
Raising the camera to her eye, she hit the shutter.

Lowering the camera, she found herself staring at the blood flecked muzzle of
a were through the grate.

"Shit!" She yelped and began to back away. Snarling, the were jerked the
grate off and reached in for her. "Supreme Thunder!" She yelled, sending
lighting bolts forward. The were howled in agony, staggering backwards. But a
second one reached, in, grabbed her arm and pulled her out.

"An intruder!" It howled.

"Name's Jupiter. Nice to meet you." She snapped, kicking the were in the
face, causing it to let her go. "Okay. She said, dropping into a fighting
stance. "Who's first?" A motion in her peripheral vision caught her
attention. She turned to look just in time to see a were throw some kind of
powder in her face.
Damnit, caught by sleeping powder. Then everything went black.
