Pt.1
Methos stood silently watching the two he was beholden to face off. He
should have known she would return. After all, Kronos had returned and his
chains had been weak compared to her hers.
She was a short woman, young in appearance. Full red hair marked her as
western as well as her pale skin. A chinese dress with a long slit to her
thigh showed off a figure women would kill for. She stood on the railing of
the walkway above where he and Kronos were. Her posture was relaxed and her
expression curious.
"Kuno-chan, its been awhile." she said a bit awkwardly, but with a small
smile. Her voice held no accent.
Kronos glanced over at him and he glared at her. "Lyliss-san, I am no
longer Kuno. I am Methos. You may even call me Peter if you must."
Kronos hated not being in control. "Lyliss?" She gazed at him
questioningly. "What brings you here?"
The girl effortlessly let herself drop to their level, a perfect landing.
"I have something to discuss with Kuno-chan. Please excuse us," she anwsered
politely.
Kronos stared at her a moment. She was totally unafraid. He burts into loud
laughter. "I think not."
She shrugged. "Must we fight then?" Her body sharpened to fall into a
battle stance.
He put his hand on the hilt of his sword. "Why not?"
She waved a hand dismissively. "I dont feel like it." Kronos was still
gaping when he froze in place.
Methos scowled and stood. "What do you want witch? I left you years ago and
dont intend to return."
She studied him a moment. "No, you look too old to return. But wouldnt it
be nice to see the others again? You wouldnt want to stay there, but you
could seize the accounts of the Kunos. Akane and the others would find you
a bit more pleasing this way."
He suddenly understood. "March 1st, 1997," he whispered.
She nodded. "Aye, youd forgoten? Well, that just shows there is some baka
left in you after all," she said in a mocking tone. She laughed and then
became sober again. "I can illusion you for a few days or even a week to
visit if you like. I intend to visit. They wont be happy to see me Im
sure."
Methos looked over at Kronos as temptation fought better judgement. "I have
things to do here. I may come later."
She nodded and pulled a card out of her pocket.Tossing it to him she jumped
into the air and hovered there, spinning gently. Then in a bright flash of
light she vanished.
Kronos was suddenly able to move again. "Who was she?"
Methos frowned, then answered. "She and I grew up together. She is a
sorceress. Her name is Lyliss. She has no mother or father. I think the term
would be magical constuct. Its very complicated. Many years ago she made a
spell binding me to her. She wanted me to fight with her and at the time I
wasnt very intelligent. I freed myself later."
He studied the card. "Odd, a phone card"

Ranma waited under the bridge, shifting uneasily. He had received a note
earlier that implied a cure for his curse should he meet the sender. For
some reason the whole situation made him nervous. A voice from behind him
made him jump and clamp onto the underside of the bridge.
"Good, you came came." Ranma turned to see a woman in her later years, but
not too wrinkled or unattractive. He deftly let himself fall and faced her
with a macho confidence.
"Yeah, you got a cure?" he asked.
She smiled and her dark hair glinted in the sunlight, making him blink.
"Yes, I have a spell that will cure your curse. I would split your two
bodies apart and train up your girl side as my student in sorcery."
He considered a moment and in a rare flash of insight he asked, "Would my
mind be in both? Bein stuck as a girl would suck."
She shook her head. "No, your girl side will have the mind of a female. We
must hurry though."
He grinned. "Lets do it!"
The woman began to whisper in a language that Ranma didnt understand.
Suddenly, he felt faint and his vision began to blur. Time seemed to slow
and he felt as if he were being torn apart.
A scream brought him back to a semblance of reality. He saw Gosunguki
falling off the bridge desperately clutching his camera. Kuno was charging,
boken in hand, and the womans face was a portrait of horror. Ranmas girl
body hovered naked above the small group and was the last image Ranma saw
before he blacked out.

Ch.1:
Cologne heard a knock at the door to her restaurant. She suspected that it
wasnt any of the residents of Nerima because they were all at the Tendos
party. Feeling tired, she had come hom early. Evens the mighty Khu-Lon felt
the pressures of age.
She hopped over to the door and peered out. On the other side of the door
was a young red haired girl, Ranmas cursed side. She quickly opened the
door. "Son-in-law, what happened?"
The girl bowed to her and spoke in clear chinese. "Khu Lon, I am not Ranma,
not any more anyway."
Khu Lon blinked. Ranma, not Ranma, the girl had said her name correctly. It
was a welcome relief. And she spoke fluent chinese. "Sit child, you have a
story to tell?"
The girl sat at a table and smiled gratefully. "Thank you, Elder. I am
called Lyliss. Until a few thousand years ago or a few days, I was called
Ranma Saotome."
"That is a heavy statement, have some tea and do explain." Khu lon said,
pouring her a cup.
The girl accepted it. "There was once a woman in your village named Bobi
Pin. She was a sorceress and cast out a few decades ago."
Khu Lon scowled. "Yes, I know of her. She was a danger to the tribe. And
probably to mankind. I havent heard of her since she was exiled."
Lylisss face clouded. "She offered Ranma a cure in exchange for his female
half, me, being her student. He agreed and she split us apart. Two boys Kuno
Tatewaki and Gosunguki Hikaru were drwn into the spell due to complications.
The spell went awry, sending Kuno-san, Gosunguki-san, Bobi Pin, and I back
5000 years in time. Ranma was left mostly unaffected. I had most of Ranmas
memories, but she trained me in her art.
It was hell. I hated Ranma for many years for sending me through it. I knew
I was in trouble when she killed Gosunguki-san for disrupting her spell. She
left Kuno-san on his own which he did. For a thousand years I was under her
control. Finally I lost control and killed her. I was not myself after that
and I dont remember taking any vows, but this demon claimed I did.
At the time I was too weak to fight it, so I worked with it to reak havoc
on the world. I was eventually defeated by a group of mages. My mind was
broken then and for many years I stumbled about in a daze. I came back to
myself and continued training in the magical arts.
Today I return to see what became of my friends when I left." She told the
elder. As she spoke she sent images and memories directly to the Elders
mind.
Khu Lon was silent a few moments. This girl was older than any she had ever
known. She had to know if it was true, here wa sone who would understand
her. Then she stared intently into Lylisss eyes and was blasted back into a
wall. Lyliss ran over to her. "Elder! You shouldnt have done that, you
arent nearly old enough to handle that much aura. You could have been
killed."
Khu Lon laughed. "It has been a long time since I was too young for
something."
Lyliss nodded. "Yes, humans have that problem. My body is made of pure
magic."
Khu lon sat up. "They wont be happy to see you, even if you carry Ranmas
memories. You know that I hope."
Lyliss nodded. "I do. I just wanted to know that things were alright I
loved" her voice trailed off, but Khu Lon leapt at the thread.
"Tell me, which fiance did he love most?" Khu lon asked eagerly. Her normal
sly nature lost in the face of this creature. Khu lon felt like a teenager
again.
Lyliss smiled. "To tell you the truth, he loved all of them. He I loved
Ucchan, Akane, and Shampoo too much to choose between them. If pressed he
would take the road of most honor, which would be the Tendo arranged
marriage."
Khu lon sighed. "I was afraid you would say that."
Lyliss suddenly looked nervous. "Where is everyone?"
"Ranmas having a party to celebrate his cure." Khu lon said. Then she
grinned conspiratorally. "I think we should stir up some trouble."
Lyliss nodded. "I couldnt agree more."

Khu Lon and Lyliss knockd on the door and were not surprised when it was
answered a moment later by Kasumi. She smiled and bowed to Khu lon, but when
she saw Lyliss she blinked and said, "Oh my."
Lyliss smiled. "May I speak with the Saotmes?"
Kasumi nodded. "Come in, everyone is in the living room. Cologne and"
"Lyliss," the redhead supplied, following Kasumi.
"andthen I woke up amd I was cured. I was a man again! No more curse."
Ranma was saying to his mother.
Kasumi cleared her throat. "Cologne and Lyliss are here to see the
Saotmes."
Everyone turned to see them. Lyliss was almost brought to tears by the urge
to run and hug them all. Ukyo, Shampoo, Kodachi, and Akane were fighting by
a large whole in the wall, while Ranma spoke to his mother and the
patriarchs. The Saotomes noticed her first. They were speechless and Genma
began to look very nervous. They were silent, as Nodoka tried to puzzle out
what was going on.
The silence attracted the attention if the girls who all turned to see
Ranma-chan, but wasnt Ranma sitting at the table?
Lyliss bowed to Nodoka. "Saotome-san, what your son says is correct, but I
can fill in more details. When we were separated I was given my own mind and
not sure how to deal with it. Khu Lon has helped me. I have all of Ranmas
memories and thoughts up till yesterday. Essentially, I am another Ranma."
Nodoka stood and studied her. "So you are Ranko?"
Lyliss frowned and shook her head. "Ranko never existed. Ranmas mind, my
mind, came up with that persona to keep you from demanding seppuku."
Ukyo wandered over. She studied Lylisss face. "
_Youre_ Ranchan?"
Akane snorted. "Just like that baka to get himself stuck as a girl."
Nodoka turned to them, "Quiet." The two girls subsided. She turned back to
Lyliss. "Had he not gotten cursed in the first place, he would not have
stained his honor by decieving me. So you must bear the dishonor. If you are
indeed a Saotome, prove it by commiting sepukku as you swore to do."
Lyliss blinked in shock and those watching drew in a breath. Ranma looked
shellshocked and she almost felt sorry for him. She looked up at Ukyo.
"Ucchan, what do you have to say? Do you think I should commit sepukku?"
Ukyo stepped away from her, though Lyliss doubted it was a conscious
action. "Sugar, I dont know Ranchan is there you cant be Ranchan You
act nothing like him!"
Lyliss tilted her head at Akane who blanched and then suddenly got angry,
"Its your own fault anyway, you jerk!"
Lyliss had not expected this. This was almost more than she could take. She
didnt bother with Kodachi. She looked at Shan Pu. Shan Pu shrugged, "This
matter japanese honor. Shampoo no get in way."
Khu Lon suddenly spoke up. "You cant expect her to kill herself! Its
hardly her fault."
Kasumi nodded as well, "Auntie Saotome, this isnt right."
Nabiki was nowhere in sight, and the patriarchs were silent. Lyliss knelt
beside Ranma. "Would you have me die?"
He was quiet a moment, but then he shook his head. "NoI will die cuz its
my fault youre here. I wont let a girl die for somethin I did."
"Ranma-sama! Dont let the haridan bewitch you!" Kodachi cried out.
Nodoks shook her head and held out the sepukku blade. "What shall you do?"
Lyliss stood. "Im afraid coming here was a mistake. I have never claimed
the name Saotome and I wont now. I wont kill myself because that would
leave complications no one so far is trained to deal with. Besides, I like
living."
Nodoka smiled triumphantly. "Now, my son, your honor is restored." Lyliss
headed out of the house and no one stopped her. When she reached the door,
Kasumi handed her some food. "You might need this on your journey."
Lyliss nodded. "Thank you Kasumi, for everything." She pulled a golden rose
out of her dress. "One wish for your kindess, you can wish for anything."
Kasumi accepted the rose and bowed.
Khu Lon hopped next to Lyliss. "Wait, where are you going?"
Lyliss shrugged. "There must be a villian to fight or a right to wrong, or
even a fun scheme somewhere." She drew out another rose. "And for you, a
wish."
Khu Lon accepted it. "Will you come back?"
Lyliss smiled. "Mayhap yes, mayhap no." Then she walked into the shadows and
seemed to vanish.

Methos woke to find a warm body next to him in the bed. He rolled over and
saw Lyliss. "What are you doing here?" he asked wearily.
She smiled sadly, "Dont go back. Its not worth it."
"She demanded sepukku?" he asked.
She frowned. "How did you get smarter than me? You used to be such a baka!"
He smiled. "You were always blind to what you didnt want to see."
She laughed after a moment. "True, true. Still, I just wanted to tell you."
She stood and he knew she was about to leave.
"Wait, the card you gave me, what is it?" he asked.
She smiled cryptically. "Use it when youre in a jam." She opened the door
and walked out.
He shook his head and went back to sleep. How did she get on his good side
again?

Kasumi cleaned the kitchen in the eary silence. Ever since Lyliss had left,
things had seemed wrong. Kuno was missing as well as Gosunguki. She
contemplated the rose, and wished

Khu lon nodded to herself and arrnged the papers where her
great-grandaughter could find them. She held the rose and spoke quietly. "I
wish that events would be such that Shan Pu, Lyliss, and I would be happy."
Suddenly Khu Lons body fell to the bed she sat on. Her spirit sat where
she had been. She saw a young woman with dark hair, weraing a tophat and
leather. An ankh rested on her throat. "You are another one of Lylisss
then. I will wait with you until she gets here."
Khu Lon looked at her questioningly. "And you are"
She smiled brightly, "Im Death! I met Lyliss awhile back when she killed
Bobi Pin. A bright one, her."
Khu Lon nodded. "Yes, a kindred spirit I think."
Then Lyliss appeared, well what seemed to be a ghost of Lyliss. "This is a
magical projection. You picked a most inopurtune time."
Khu Lon shrugged. "What are you going to do, kill me?"
Lyliss smilled and shook her head. "Youll help me on my journey I suppose.
I must make you a body first."
A swirl of light expanded into a lifesize figure of Khu Lon as a teenager.
There was an inaudible !pop! and she was looking through young eyes. "Did
you am I?
Lyliss nodded. "You are in a new body. A construct like mine, it will last
older than your last. Come, we have an enemy to fight. Shan Pu will discover
her gift later. Kasumi too has wished and many things here will be
changing." She nodded to Death. "Good to see you, Ill stop by when Im less
busy."
Death nodded, "Sure, plenty of time!" Then Death was gone.
Lyliss held a hand out to the youthened Khu Lon. "Come, we must hurry!"
