Not quite sure how to begin...
This is just a status report, and a bit of an announcement,
so here goes:
Some of you may recall that, once upon a time, I was working
on a Ranma fic entitled American Vacation. No, it's not the A
Different Viewpoint fic; this one was more of a National
Lampoon-style fic about the Tendo's and Saotome's trip to New
York City. Details (and existing chapters) are available on my
website, if you're interested.
Anyway, the point is, I haven't touched in in -months-...
like, eight or ten? I just haven't been in the mood to write,
unfortunately. Well, that's changed.
Due to some encouragement (read: repeated bludgeoning with
blunt objects) from a couple of fellow FFML authors, I've finally
kicked my butt back into gear and am working on the next chapter.
Now my problem lies in the fact that, as an author, I've changed
since I last wrote Vacation. I'm finding that the new chapter
doesn't feel (so far) like the old ones, and am wondering if
that's a problem. I'll solve it, but my question is this: do any
of you feel that I should do a re-write of the existing chapters,
to make them conform with the new 'style' to my writing, or
should I try to write in the same manner that I used to? Or,
alternatively, just write the way I write and don't worry about
it?
At any rate, I'll be releasing _American Vacation Chapter
Four: Sex, Lies, and Videotape_ sometime soon... within the next
couple of weeks, definitely, and hopefully sooner.
Now for the announcement... :)
XStylus, the unlucky fool that he is, agreed to help me run
the Couch. He's been doing a GREAT job - thanks XStylus! - and
one of the nifty things he just came up with was an Exclusives
section: a place for authors to share tips and the secrets of
their success.
Can't imagine why I didn't think of that before, really... :)
Anyway, it's up, and he's already got one nifty article about
self-inserts posted. If anyone has anything they'd like to
contribute or suggest for us to include, let us know! Contact us
about it - we'd love to hear from you. :)
