Juuust in case..

I've been throwing around ideas for a crossover fanfiction (anime and non-anime) for use in the Dragonlance saga worlds, but before I started, does anyone know if they've run into the same type of problems/concerns with fanfics as Mercedes Lackey? Please let me know, private or post doesn't matter.. maybe there's some other people out there with the same question ^.^
