Part 2  "Sisters Apart, Sisters Together"

<Why am I on my knees?> Sailor Moon wondered as she started to
orient herself to the new environment around her. Any further thought
was cut short as bright light filled the sky. Looking up, she felt a
rush of excitement course through her as she saw Pegasus. <We're
fighting!> Panic started to pound through her. If they were in a fight,
then why was she kneeling?! Raye was never going to let her live this
down.
Before she could move to correct the situation, a familiar voice
shouted out, "MOON GORGEOUS MEDITATION!" Magical light flared briefly
and the newly arrived Sailor Scouts watched in shocked awe, as yet
another Lemure was banished back to its shadowy realm.
"YEAH!" Sailor Mars cheered while jumping up and down clapping,
"YA GOT IT! YA GOT IT!"
Sailor Moon, Sailor Venus, and Sailor Mercury didn't even notice
this. They were all watching the person that had cast out the enemy. It
appeared to be Reenie, or rather Sailor Chibi-Moon, but instead of her
typical pink Scout uniform, the eight year old was sporting Super Sailor
Moon's uniform. Slowly eyes turned to regard Sailor Moon. They found
that she too was wearing a different uniform than what they expected.
       "What's going on?" Venus whined.
<We made it!> Sailor Moon cheered to herself and then beamed
proudly at her much bigger looking daughter. "That was great!" She
scrambled to her feet and ran over to the older girl. <I'll have to
remember that I'm Chibi-Moon now.> This sent a giggle through her.
"You were great too, Sailor Moon," the older girl replied.
"I thought you were Sailor Moon," Sailor Moon queried in
confusion.
Chibi-Moon rolled her eyes. "It's late," she announced, "Let's
go home."
"Where's Jupiter?!" Mercury said in distress, "I can't find her
anywhere!"
Chibi-Moon disengaged Sailor Moon's hug and went over to where
Mercury was standing. "Remember Mercury?" Chibi-Moon prodded, "Jupiter
isn't with us tonight." <Poor Amy. She doesn't understand.>
       "Oh..." Mercury sighed.
"Now, Mercury, don't worry, everything will be okay," a small
gray kitten consoled as it stepped from the shadows. Everyone turned to
see the familiar, if bigger, form of Diana move to rub herself against
Mercury's leg. Diana suddenly stopped and glared towards Luna. "I
thought I told you to stay home!" Luna's fur bristled but before she
could do anything, Sailor Moon picked her up.
<I guess Lita couldn't make it,> Sailor Moon thought, <That's
too bad... but we'll get to meet this universe's Lita.> As if that
reminded her, she gave Sailor Mars a critical look. <Hmmm... She's six,
maybe seven.> She'd have to ask Amy to scan them. <I promised Amy to
play it safe and act like we belong here.> If there wasn't anything
wrong, then she and the others could return with no one being the wiser.
<But that would mean getting the Time Key and the power...> She hadn't
thought of those things before. <I'm never gonna hear the end of it.>
"SAILOR MOON!" Sailor Moon jumped and looked at Chibi-Moon who
was glaring at her sternly. "Come on, we got to get your friends home
and then get you into bed."
"Artemis!" Diana called, "Artemis, we're going home!"
While Sailor Moon was glad to be back, things had started on a
weird footing. <Me in Chibi-Moon's outfit but I'm still Sailor Moon.
Diana sounding like Luna and Jupiter missing from a battle. I wonder
what'll happen next?>

Amy slipped beneath the covers of Mina's bed and gave a little
sigh. <I wonder why Lita isn't here with us? She probably did something
naughty and Mom kept her home as punishment.> Apparently, she would be
spending the night with Mina without her sister. <I hope Serena can keep
a low profile.> It would be especially difficult contending with this
universe's Raye and Lita. <It's too bad my Lita couldn't make the
crossing. She really wanted be my sis again.> She, Mina, and Serena had
managed to briefly talk alone while Reenie had gone into the Cherry Hill
Temple to make sure Raye got to bed properly. Diana had dragged Luna off
towards the Tsukino home, scolding her the entire time. This made Amy
giggle.
"What's so funny?" Mina asked as she slid into bed along side
little Amy.
"I was just thinking of Diana."
Mina giggled and then added, "Yeah, and Artemis is SO cute!" She
giggled again at her own high-pitched voice. "This seems funny. Too bad
Carrie couldn't spend the night too... then it would be a REAL
sleepover." She giggled again. There hadn't been any excuse for Carrie
to sleep over at Mina's in the real universe. So, being able to have a
sleepover with her young friend would certainly be a perk of coming back
to this universe. Turning to regard Amy, she said, "I hope you don't
snore."
Amy gave the blonde a dangerous look but before she could
retort, they heard something enter the room. Both froze, tensing for a
moment, and then they noticed the sleek forms of two kittens.
"It's late, girls," Diana admonished, "Now go to sleep." With
that, she curled up near the foot of the bed. Little Artemis, on the
other hand, padded up the middle and snuggled himself between Amy and
Mina.
"It'll be okay, you'll see," he commented to each little girl.
Amy gave her blonde friend a questioning look; something very strange
was going on.

Serena yawned, gave Reenie a hug, and settled into her bed as
Reenie handed her Mr. Floppy. Serena was about to close her eyes when
she noticed that her big sister was heading for the bedroom door. "Where
are ya goin'?" she asked while sitting up in bed.
       "To bed," Reenie replied softly.
       "Aren'tcha gonna sleep in here?"
"Serena, you know what your mommy said. You're getting too big
for that."
<Too big?!> "But, Reenie, I want you to stay with me!" Serena
whined. Pouting a little, she folded her arms over her chest and glared
at Reenie. <But that's what I came back for!> "Pleeeease!"
       "No Serena."
       "Yes!" Serena demanded.
Reenie came quickly over to the bed and stated, "Not tonight,
Serena. I'll ask Aunt Ellen tomorrow, 'kay?"
"Then I'll come sleep in your bed," Serena reasoned, "Mommy
didn't say I couldn't do that."
       "No."
       "But why?!" Serena whined.
"I said no!" Reenie hissed out, "Now go to sleep or you'll be
cranky tomorrow." Serena flopped back onto the bed and closed her eyes.
She pulled her stuffed bunny close to her. "Thanks," Reenie added and
started heading for the door.
Luna, who had spent the past few minutes venting her annoyance
on the couch downstairs, hopped onto the bed and padded towards Serena.
"So do you still think coming back here was a good idea?"
"Yes," Serena said sulkily, "Things are different here..."
<You're telling me.> "Have you told Reenie yet?"
"No, I promised Amy." Opening her eyes, Serena regarded the
black kitten and questioned, "Did you think that I'd tell Reenie when I
was alone with her?" After a moment, Serena thought, <I want to find out
if I was right or not. If I wasn't, then Amy's right and we can head
back without a lot of fuss.> Leaving had been difficult the last time.
"Hey Luna. Like maybe, if we hafta leave in a hurry, I can sneak
Reenie's Time Key. That way, she wouldn't find out that we came back."
Luna would have normally disapproved of such a sly idea but at
the moment, she wanted to get home as fast as possible. Yawning herself,
Luna stretched and settled down for the night.

Sailor Jupiter moaned a little and rubbed her head. "What
happened?" she muttered out. There were pieces of wood and cardboard
lying on top of her obscuring her surroundings. Jupiter pushed the
debris off herself, got into a sitting position, and looked around.
"Jeez, what happened to this place?" The deserted building appeared
almost totally demolished. "Amy!" There was no response. Standing, she
cupped her hands over her mouth and called out, "SERENA! MINA! LUNA!"
Her voice echoed eerily through the gloom but her friends didn't
respond.
Looking down at her body, she noticed that it was much smaller.
<Well, I'm back in the other universe.> Off in the distance, a clock
tolled eleven. <I better go home. I bet that's where Amy is. Mom... I
mean Mommy will be worried.> She smiled at that thought. After a minute,
Sailor Jupiter started walking but then she heard a noise. Giving a
little yelp, she hurried out of the ravaged building and into the night.
<I don't like this.> She was feeling uncomfortable, so small and
vulnerable. <Why didn't I arrive with the others? Was I the only one to
make it back?> While she hoped that Serena and the others were okay and
not too worried about her, she did feel a little thrill run through her
at the prospect of being the only one to make the trip. What would this
universe's Amy be like?
The night seemed colder, somehow darker to the six year old
Scout as she made her way towards the Anderson home. <I guess it's this
body,> she deduced. As she drew closer to her destination, anticipation
ran through her. <Mommy...> Her mother would be home. Not just some
empty apartment. With a final burst of speed, she raced down the final
block and into her front yard of the apartment building. Ducking around
to where her bedroom window was, she levered herself up and inside
through the window. <Better transform back before Mommy sees me,> she
giggled to herself. With a flash of light, Sailor Jupiter vanished to be
replaced by Lita Anderson.
<Huh? Jeans and a T-shirt?> She had expected to be dressed in
her pajamas. For sure, it was way past her bedtime. Shrugging a little,
she looked around the bedroom and noted that while some things were
different, most things were as she remembered. The bed was neatly made
up; it hadn't been slept in that night. What was more of a
disappointment to Lita, though, was that Amy wasn't in the room.
Padding softly over to the door, she opened it and peered out
into the hall. <Mommy must be watching the news.> She could hear the
television playing in the living room. <Is Amy with her?> Slipping out
of the room, she crept along the hall. Peeking around the corner, she
saw Mrs.  Anderson sitting alone on the couch, eyes partially shut.
<Must have had a hard day. So where's my sis?> Pulling back around the
corner, she sniffled, <I need a hug...> Her emotions starting to churn
inside her. Her bottom lip began to tremble but she bit it so she
wouldn't cry.

<I should go to bed before I fall asleep on the couch,> Mrs.
Anderson thought, <But I'm so comfortable...> The night shift had been
especially chaotic for some reason. <If I were superstitious, I'd say
the full moon had something to do with it.> It wasn't that there had
been a mass of patients to look after, just that strange things had kept
happening. At least, there were no little girls underfoot.
She was jolted fully awake when something landed in her lap,
knocking the wind completely out of her. For a moment, she was frozen as
someone hugged her tightly around the neck. Something warm and wet
dripped onto her neck.
It took several seconds for Mrs. Anderson to realize that things
weren't as bad as she had first believed. There, sitting on her lap, was
her daughter Lita. Quickly she examined the child and didn't find
anything to indicate Lita was hurt. What finally convinced her that Lita
wasn't hurt was when the little girl asked, "Mommy, would ya read me a
story?"
Concern was pushed aside by anger as realization dawned on Mrs.
Anderson. "LITA ANDERSON!" she shouted, "What are you doing back here,
young lady?!" Lita jerked backwards and slid to the floor with a thud.
Mrs. Anderson rose from the couch and looked sternly down at her
daughter.
Lita appeared to be confused for a moment before saying softly,
"I missed you, Mommy."
"Don't you dare fib to me, young lady," Mrs. Anderson
admonished. Much to her surprise, the little girl burst into tears. She
sent up a wail that even Serena would have been hard pressed to match.
Again, Mrs. Anderson's maternal instincts took over as she sat down and
lifted her daughter up back onto her lap. Hugging her little girl close,
she asked, "Are you and Amy still fighting?"
"No," Lita mumbled out between her tears, "I just... came back
here." She sniffled again and hugged the woman who had captured her
heart.

Eventually, Lita calmed down. She hugged her mother and gave a
little sniffle. Remembering her mother's reaction, she asked, "Are you
mad?"
"You scared me half to death," Mrs. Anderson replied as she
started towards the hallway, "Did your sister come home with you too?"
       "No," Lita replied.
"Do Mr. and Mrs. Aino know where you are?" Lita shook her head.
"So you snuck out of their house and came home?" It wasn't exactly
unusual for her adventurous daughter.
Lita kept quiet. <Stupid idiot!> she thought, <I should've used
my Scout Communicator.> Well, she was in hot water now for sure. Mrs.
Anderson appeared worried but also rather upset. "I'll go back, Mommy,"
Lita volunteered, "Amy'll miss me."
"Oh no you don't, young lady. It's way past your bedtime. You'll
be spending the rest of the night right here." <Honestly...> As they
entered Lita's bedroom, she wondered why her mother didn't put her down.
Instead, the woman gathered up a set of bunny pajamas and walked from
the room.
As they entered the master bedroom, Lita gave her mother a
quizzical look. "You'll be spending the night with me so I can keep an
eye on you."
Lita flushed a little. "I really did miss you, Mommy," Lita
reiterated softly. <Amy's Mom is nice but this is my other mother...
even if I do have to share.> Smiling a little, she allowed herself to be
settled onto the bed. Mrs. Anderson sat down beside Lita and proceeded
to take one shoe off before removing the sock. Lita didn't protest this;
there were advantages to being small sometimes.
Mrs. Anderson paused and glanced at Lita before lifting the
telephone that was on her nightstand and dialed a number. "Hello," a
groggy male voice. "Hello?" he said again.
"Yes, I'm sorry to call so late, Mr. Aino. This is Mary
Anderson."
"Oh, Dr. Anderson, is something wrong?"
Lita noticed her mother gave the phone a quizzical look before
saying, "I just called to tell you that Lita came home. She must have
really had you worried." There was a long pause so she felt compelled to
say, "Is Amy all right?"
"Yes, I just checked a few moments ago, both she and Mina are
sleeping soundly. What's this all about?"
Mrs. Anderson frowned for a moment then said, "Well, I just
thought I'd let you know that Lita was home." She took Lita's other foot
and removed both shoe and sock.
"I knew that," Mr. Aino replied, "Good night."
"Good night." Mrs. Anderson put the receiver down and looked at
Lita who was watching her intently. "Well, young lady, it's too late to
punish you tonight. That'll have to wait until tomorrow. So let's get
you dressed for bed."
"'Kay Mommy," Lita squeaked out. This had not been the way she
had wanted to return.

Despite the lateness of the hour, Lita was still awake.
Carefully she peeked at her mother who was sleeping soundly beside her.
<Oh man,> Lita thought yet again, <I ran away, and I'm fighting with
Amy! I'm gonna get spanked for sure!> She peeked at her mother again.
<Mommy didn't say anything but I just know what's gonna happen.> If
there was one thing Lita knew, it was that both universe's Mrs.
Anderson's were strict mothers.
Lita didn't regret coming back though. <My apartment seems so
empty when I'm there all by myself... One thing for sure, I'll make up
with Amy tomorrow.> Shifting closer, she snuggled against her mother and
after giving a little sigh, she started to slip into slumber.

"Small Lady," Diana called softly. It was shortly after
midnight, "Small Lady!" Still, there was no response from the eight year
old except for a soft snoring sound. Sighing a little, Diana coiled
herself on the edge of the windowsill before pouncing onto her charge's
stomach. "Wake up!" she demanded. Reenie abruptly sat up, causing the
gray kitten to tumble off her stomach.
"Diana, why did you go 'n' wake me up?!"
"Lita's back, Small Lady!" Diana pronounced. Reenie blinked and
then flopped back onto her bed. "Didn't you hear me?"
"Yeah yeah, funny joke, Diana," the pink haired girl mumbled
out, "Now go away. It ain't funny." Turning over onto her stomach, she
pulled the pillow over her head and let out a large sigh.
"I'm not joking, Princess," Diana protested, "Mrs. Anderson
phoned the Aino's. She said that Lita was with her at home." From what
Diana could gather, both Aino's were rather confused by the call. After
a moment, Reenie rolled over and sat up violently.
"Are you serious?!" the young girl demanded. <But how? I saw...>
"Would I lie to you?" Diana mewed in protest as Reenie lifted
her up and gave her a crushing hug.
"That's great!" Reenie declared and then suddenly dropped Diana
and got up out of bed, sending the Lunar Cat tumbling to the floor.
"This is bad. If Lita's back... but the Aino's think Lita's never came
over." She started pacing, muttering to herself. Diana, after nearly
being crushed, leapt up to the bed and then to the windowsill where she
glared balefully at her charge. "I'm really glad I have the attic
bedroom. Now we can surprise Serena." She paused and tapped her lips. "I
gotta go make some adjustments with Luna Ball." She gave Diana a stern
look then and added, "But I'll go check out your story first."
"I thought you believed me," Diana retorted.
"I do believe Mrs. Anderson called but she might have told them
that Lita's missin' instead of back." Lita couldn't be back. She
wouldn't believe it until she saw it with her own eyes.
<Meatball headed...> Diana thought darkly, <It's tough being
responsible.> But she'd forgive Reenie. After all, she hadn't believed
it either until she had seen Lita herself.

"You were right, Diana," Sailor Chibi-Moon whispered as she sped
away from the Anderson home towards the Aino residence. "Lita is back,
but how?"
"Does it really matter?" Diana asked.
"Yes, it does. It might be a trick. She could just look like
Lita or she could be controlled by the baddies. They're really tricky."
Diana snorted in disbelief. "Well, I got took over by Wiseman, so it
could happen to Lita." She'd have to get Amy to check Lita out. <But can
Mommy heal Lita?> She hoped so, for all of their sakes.
"Why did you use the Luna Ball on Mrs. Anderson?" Diana
questioned while tightly shutting her eyes as Chibi-Moon jumped off of a
roof. "Don't we just have to change the Aino's memories?"
"Amy's mommy is like Aunt Ellen. She really wouldn't like Lita
`leaving' Mina's all by herself without no one knowing so I fixed things
a little."
"Your mother wouldn't like that either," Diana complained.
"We ain't gonna tell her. Like I said before, I want this to be
a surprise." The Chibi-Scouts needed a bit of good news. "We can meet
tomorrow. It's Saturday so no school. Now be quiet and don't wake up
Mina 'n' Amy."

Chad awoke feeling a pain in his side. After a moment, he found
that the cause of the pain was a small knee; to be more precise, it was
Raye's knee. The child was sound asleep, her right knee jabbing him in
the side while her left foot rested on his stomach. Her little arms were
wrapped around his arm. That was when Chad noticed that his left arm was
numb.
Smiling with affection at the little girl, he carefully reached
with his right arm and shifted her knee away from him. With the pain's
removal, Chad closed his eyes. <She must've had a bad dream.> After a
moment, he added, <Come to think of it, Raye's been...> The word alluded
him. Raye wanted extra cuddling lately; not that it was a bad thing. <At
least, she stopped thinking I'd leave her.> He'd found a home here. With
that peaceful thought, he slipped back into blackness of sleep.

Mina Aino yawned expansively before blinking. The sun was up and
its warm light was streaming through a partially open window. Blinking,
she tried to reach up to rub the sleep out of her eyes. She couldn't and
thereby discovered she was encased almost completely within the sheets
and blankets of her bed. "Help," she squeaked out, "Somebody get me
outta here!" She had to use the bathroom bad. The bed shifted as someone
climbed onto it and then a very grumpy looking Amy peered down at her.
"Ames, get me out, please?!" She squirmed with urgency.
"You kicked me out of bed."
"I warned you about that," Artemis muttered from under a pillow
that was pinning him.
"Please, Amy, help me out!" Amy considered her friend's plea for
a moment and then nodded. It took some effort but Mina was eventually
freed from her cloth prison. Without even bothering to thank Amy, little
Mina rushed from the room and nearly bowled her father over before
making it into the bathroom and slamming the door shut.
Mr. Aino sighed. It was going to be a long day he could tell.
Looking into his daughter's room, Mr. Aino saw that Amy was sitting on
the bed petting Artemis. "Good morning, Amy, did you have a good sleep?"
"Yep!" Amy chirped brightly, "Thank you for letting me stay, Mr.
Aino."
Mr. Aino smiled. "You're quite welcome. Artemis sure likes what
you're doing." Amy beamed happily at him while Artemis continued to purr
contentedly. "I bet you miss your sister, huh?" <Amy was pretty sad
yesterday. Even Mina couldn't cheer her up. I wonder what Lita and Amy
fought about?> It must have been some argument to leave Amy in such a
state. Of course, he rationalized almost anything might seem like the
end of the world to little girls their age. <But then Lita takes off...
Funny, Amy hasn't mentioned anything.>
"Lita was naughty," Amy stated after a moment, "I'll see her
when Mom gets me." She smiled happily at that prospect. Mina's father
smiled and left the room.
Amy Anderson looked at the mass of sheets and pillows and gave a
little sigh. It took her a few moments to separate the different sheets
and blankets. Her smaller physique didn't allow her to use any of the
normal tricks she knew to make the bed fast so it was quite an effort.
By the time Mina came skipping back into the room, Amy had made
the bed as best she could, which meant crooked sheets and lots of
wrinkles. "Thanks for savin' me," she chirped brightly, "Did I really
kick you out of bed?"
"I think I received a contusion," Amy muttered. The blonde
blinked in confusion. Amy had been jolted awake sometime around four
that morning. "All I know is one minute I'm in bed, the next minute I'm
kissing the carpet."
       "I'm sorry, Amy. Where's Artemis?"
"Downstairs. Diana took him to get breakfast."
"What are you doing?" Mina asked as she started towards the door
and noticed that Amy wasn't following her.
       "Getting dressed."
       "Why? It's Saturday. You're... I mean WE'RE little kids...
'Sides, you told us to act normal." With that, Mina marched over to the
somewhat neatly made bed and messed it up. Even before Amy could protest
the destruction of all her hard work, Mina had grabbed her hand and
pulled her from the room. "There, much better. Now let's go watch
cartoons." There was no more fun way to do that than sitting on the
floor in their pajamas.

Lita looked gloomily out of the car window as her mother drove
her to the Aino residence. She was sitting belted in the back seat, chin
resting in the palm of her hand. Her reduced stature didn't afford her
much view other than trees or the tops of buildings. <I hope Amy isn't
too mad at me. I'll have to be careful. I don't want this Amy thinking I
replaced her sister or anything. On the plus side, Mommy's in a better
mood this morning.> Calling the woman in front of her "Mommy" didn't
seem so weird anymore. <At least, I know what to expect.> She would have
to remember to apologize to Mina's parents. Her mother hadn't mentioned
anything but she assumed it wouldn't hurt to do it without prompting.
<I just wish I knew where my communicator was.> She had gone
outside to call Amy to apologize only to discover that her communicator
was missing. <I hope I didn't lose it.> They'd start to think she was
becoming like Serena. <I hope Serena doesn't blame herself for just
sending me here. I promise to check on Reenie for you, Serena.> She just
wished she knew if her friends were safe or not.
       "Lita?"
Lita gave a guilty start and looked around. She blinked in minor
confusion as she realized that her door was open and her mother was
looking at her. "We're here."
"Oh..." Unfastening her seatbelt, Lita scrambled from the car
and headed for the Aino residence. The closer she got to the front door,
the more nervous she started to feel. She never even got the chance to
climb the stairs to the porch before the front door opened and an
energetic Mina came bounding out of the house, still in her pajamas.
"You're here!" Mina crowed delighted. A more sedate looking Amy
came out of the house behind her. "Come on, Ames, your sis is here."
"Hi Lita," Amy squeaked and then gave a yawn and blushed.
"Sorry." Walking over, she gave Lita a large hug which Lita returned.
"Hi-ee Mrs. Anderson!" Mina chirped out brightly while waving.
"Mina!" her mother called, "Get back in here! You're not even
dressed yet."
"Hello Mina," Mrs. Anderson replied with a smile, "Did you like
having Amy spend the night with you?"
"Yeah!" Mina babbled on, completely ignoring her mother, "It was
lotsa fun!"
<Well some things are the same,> Lita thought. Then she noticed
Mina's parents standing in the doorway.
"Would you like to come in for some tea, Mary? Mina! Get up
here!"
"Thank you but no. I have to get these two home. Thank you for
taking care of Amy," Mrs. Anderson replied, "Did you say thank you,
Amy?" Amy nodded.
Lita gave a little sigh. <Well, here goes nothing.> Walking up
to Mr. and Mrs. Aino with her head down, Lita began, "Thank you for
letting me spend the night with Mina." Shifting a little, she added,
"I'm really really sorry for runnin' away. I shoulda stayed with you."
"Thank you, Lita," Mrs. Aino answered. Seeing Lita blush in
embarrassment, she offered, "Maybe if your mommy lets you, you can spend
the night some other time. But you have to promise to spend the WHOLE
night with us."
Lita dashed forward and gave Mina's mother's legs a large hug.
"Promise. Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Smiling up at the woman, she
turned and walked over to Amy who was looking at her oddly. "Amy...
I'm..." <Don't screw this up, Lita. This is your other self's sister.>
"Sis, I'm really sorry for gettin' mad at you 'n' stuff."
Amy paused for a moment not sure what Lita was referring to,
then decided, "I'm sorry too." With that, she gave Lita a hug which she
happily returned. Whatever problem it was, she was glad it was fixed.
"Come on, you two, let's go play!" Mina proclaimed. Time was
wasting. She giggled as her mother, who had came off the porch, lifted
her up, and tucked her against her side. "This is fun!"
"I'm sorry, Mina," Mrs. Anderson remarked, "But I have to get
Lita and Amy home. Lita wasn't supposed to come home last night." Lita
flushed. Motioning to her young daughters, she commanded, "Come on, Amy,
Lita, let's go."
Lita waved good-bye to Mina for a moment. Then, she took her
sister's hand and started for the car. Amy smiled at her and gave her
hand a little squeeze. <Well at least, Amy's not mad at me for taking
off.> Things were starting to look up!
