No most of the spells we see are shamanist magics, anything with a
elemental attibute is considered that. I believe it's been mentioned
that there is a place to look all this up. There is much more involved
then just what you see in the eps.
Mazoku translates into something on the line of Demon family, meaning
ALL demons are strong and weak are catagorized in as a Mazoku. Ruby eye
is a demon Prince, find the table they show and elaborate in Slayers Try.
Xelloss is also a Mazoku, and a very powerful one. He was name Xelloss
the destoryer I think, by the dragons. But not all Mazoku are that
powerful, or they would have won the demon dragon war easily.
Melvin just happens to not know his own strength againist an Inverse.
Again it's all easily found on the Slayers sites and gotten straight
from a published book called Slayers Encylopedia. Give Kenjiko some
credit, I believe that martial arts ep, they didn't really call it chi,
just Phil with a twist. who knows maybe he just the abnormal 'bob' channeler...tee-hee.
