Kasumi would believe that Ranma is unaware of the damage that not having a
mother has done to him.  It's not about pain, it's about the presence or
absence of a female role model.

Yes, but the whole premise of the fic is that Ranma is going nutso-coocoo.
That means all bets are off.

I've been following this story with considerable interest. I'd like to point out that things may not be as assumed.

Yes, Dr. Tofu is diagnosing battle fatigue; given Ranma's normal life, that's hardly surprising. However, there are other factors, such as the Cold Dragon, which certainly suggests that he is NOT going nuts. Indeed, he may be moving in the direction of sanity.

Of course, sanity by whose definition may be the big question.
