In "My Fiance, the Ghost Cat," I noticed an
interesting sleeping position on Ranma's part. It got
me to thinking and scheming. I had to set down this
little scene.

Warning... It's vaguely a lime, but no more so than
the series.

Oh... and if you think Ranma is OOC... Blame the Lord
Morpheus for Ranma's confusion between the Dreaming
and Waking worlds getting a little blurred. (Lucien
assures me this is common)

My respects to the Dream Master Gaimen for the above
mention of his characters. My eternal regard for
Takahashi-sama for her lovable characters. I mean no
harm... I write only for love and never for yen.

Akane wasn't sure exactly why she was awake. One
moment she had been peacefully explaining to the
rabbit with green fur where her mallet came from and
the next she was sitting up in bed with her heart
pounding in her throat. She took deep breaths to slow
down her excited heart as she reached up to rub the
last trace of rabbit from out of her head. She made a
mental note not to eat any more of her own cooking for
a while. It always gave her weird dreams. Tonight it
couldn't have been helped since the whole family was
gone and wouldn't return until sometime tomorrow...
well, all except one and he didn't count.

A loud crashing sound came from downstairs.

Akane sat up and listened intently. Someone else was
in the house. "Well of course there is... Ranma's
here," a voice reasoned in Akane's head.

"He doesn't make THAT much noise at night," Akane half
whispered to herself. She got out of bed and picked
up her bokken. "Just in case," she reasoned as she
headed for the door. She unlocked it, opened and
slipped out, careful to listen for any stray noises.
She crept down the hallway towards Ranma's room. If
it was empty, she would know who was making the noise
downstairs... but it wasn't empty. A light snore
wafted through the door.

Another loud crash came from downstairs.

Akane slid open the door, closed it behind her and
made a beeline for Ranma's sleeping form. He had
kicked off his blankets and his arms and legs were
wrapped around his pillow. Akane knelt beside his
futon and stared at him in frustration. Waking Ranma
often proved to be a difficult task. He usually
ignored any poking or prodding. When he did respond
it was usually defensive and painful. Sometimes it
helped to attack his head. It dulled his wits enough
to make him defenseless... but it was also very loud.
Akane needed quiet. She crouched beside Ranma's head
and whispered as loudly as she dared, "Ranma... Ranma
wake up!"

Ranma snorted, mumbled something in his sleep and went
back to snoring.

"Ranma... WAKE UP!" Akane whispered a little louder.

Ranma moaned and rolled over. His arm swung out and
wrapped around Akane. He cuddled up to her, sighed
and resumed his snoring.

Akane froze in shock. This was no time for him to
pull this. "RANMA, WAKE UP!" she pleaded.

Ranma opened his eyes sleepily and yawned, "What is
it, dear?"

Akane felt electricity pass from her scalp to her
tailbone. "You idiot, there's someone downstairs,"
she grumbled as she rolled out from under Ranma's arm.

Ranma sat up with a look of confusion on his face.
"There's someone downstairs? Isn't there always...?"

Akane raised her bamboo sword. "The family is out for
the night. There should only be you and me here.
Don't you remember?"

Ranma made a face and looked down at his lap.
"Nope... Sorry, dear." He yawned and fell back on his
futon.

"Why are you calling me dear?" Akane demanded.

Ranma replied by snoring.

Akane inwardly seethed. When she needed the baka he
was caught up in some dream world. She had to wake
him... the dojo depended on it. She crawled over to
him and sat on his stomach. "Will you wake up?"

He smiled and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"Again...?"

Something broke in Akane. It was her patience.
Obviously she and Ranma weren't on the same page.
"Look, Saotome, you better snap out of your little
dream world and help me or we won't have a dojo to be
heirs to."

Ranma's eyes snapped open and he sat up, knocking
Akane off of his stomach. "What are you doing here?"

"There's someone downstairs."

"Shouldn't everyone be gone?"

"Yes!"

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

Akane growled in frustration. "I tried, but you kept
acting out some dream. And you called me dear!"

Ranma closed his eyes for a moment with an odd look on
his face. His expression was foreign to Akane's eyes.
He mumbled something under his breath.

"What?"

"I said, 'It must have been your cooking,'" Ranma
grumbled.

Akane raised her sword to Ranma, "WHAT DID YOU SAY?!"

Suddenly the door to Ranma's room slid open and Nabiki
peeped in. "Sorry for all the noise. I forgot
something and had to come home to get it. I had a
little trouble finding it. I hope I didn't wake you
two." She smiled down at her sister and future
brother-in-law. She gave both of them the once over
to access what activity she had interrupted.
Something in Ranma's lap caught her eye before she
resumed eye contact and gave a small wink. "Be good,
you two... I don't want to be an Auntie yet," she said
as she shut the door.

Ranma blushed and reached for a blanket to cover his
lap. "I wasn't dreaming about that..." he said
defensively before Akane had a chance to think about
it.

Akane stared at him in confusion for a moment before
it struck her what he meant. "Hentai," she whispered.
