Just a few general notes on formatting.
A word can only be split along its syllable. I.E. 'Dojo' can be split
into Do-jo. The split word must always have a dash at the point of the
split to let people know there's more to the word. Example from my
upcoming SM/Dragonlance fic:
[Usagi was torn between curiosity at the voice, confusion at why she
hadn't transformed, and fear at the grinning... ohwait, the lizard
thingy was gone. "Alright!" she cheered. She didn't know what she did,
exactly, but whatever it was, it worked, and that was what was impor-
tant, right? "Why didn't I change?" she wondered, staring at the locket
in puzzlement.]
Note the break on 'important.' If there's not enough space to put the
dash in, do NOT leave it out. Put the whole word on the next line or
break it off at an earlier syllable(if there is one).
Contractions can NOT be broken down in this way. For all intents and
purposes, contractions are single words, with one syllable, no matter
what they are short for.
If you're having trouble formatting your fic, a good idea would be to
mail it as an attachment in plain text. Listar will strip and decode
it for you and mail it out in the message body. I use a column width of
66 characters(fixed width) for my fics.
To anyone who is curious about my SM/Dragonlance fic, it's almost done
the first chapter, and will start at the same time as Dragons of Autumn
Twilight, but will NOT follow the adventures of Tanis and company.
Sorry, but I debated this over and over, and came to the conclusion
that it would be pointless. Usagi will have to fend for herself for the
most part. There WILL be cameos of the company, though.
