Chapter two

============================================================================

It was a peaceful Sunday morning in Nerima. The sun was shinning
lazily in the sky, while people slowly got up from their slumbers and
went
to work. Two birds were singing merrily on a tree when a cry cut into
their
song, startling the birds and causing one of them to fall from the tree.
The
poor animal never saw the delivery truck that reduced it into a smeared
stain on the ground. The owner of the voice was oblivious of the crime
she
had just commited.

  "RANMA NO BAKA!!"

Ranma Saotome had be training in martial since he could walk,
and he had developed a sixth sense that alerted him of dangers. His
warning
bells were ringing like crazy when he saw something brown and wooden
coming
to his face at terminal velocity.

He had two options, to punch the offending object out of its
path, or trying to dodge. He could not just punch the object, for he
would
risk shattering it. He did not want to upset her anymore.

However, the girl in question had other thoughts. Taking
advantage of Ranma's hesistation, she managed the connect the blow on
the
left side of the boy's head.

Ranma winced when his back broke through Tendo Dojo's wall and
smashed onto the ground on a street. He rubbed his head, which was still

spinning from the impact, and muttered something about uncute tomboys
and
tried to push himself up.

Wait, when did the ground feel like flesh? Without much thought,
he pushed the ground again. Yes, it felt like flesh.

    ***

Sabrina, the Saffron City Gym Leader, was scared. This sentence
itself seemed incredible, as everyone who knew her would say that the
girl had no emotion at all, let alone feeling fear. Sabrina, however,
was frantically running from a monster.

The monster was about seven feet tall. Its strong psychic power
was radiating from its body, making it even more intimidating. Its
outstretched claws had a sense of power in them, and they promised a lot

of pain if they touched flesh.

Sabrina stole a glance over her shoulder to see if the monster
was still chasing her. Unfortunately it was, and it was closing the
distance
between them in an alarming speed due to its longer legs.

Sabrina, breathing heavily, knew that she could not keep this
running up forever. She needed to get to somewhere else quickly. She
concentrated.

Nothing happened. She was supposed to teleport! What did she do
wrong? Hearing a growl behind her, she turned her head abruptly and saw
the monster three yards behind her. The monster glanced into her soul,
eyes
glinting as if mocking her futile effort to get away. She tried to
levitate
off the ground, but that too failed.

Panicking, she held her hands in front of her and unleashed her
attack, hoping it would buy her more time. Any second now, the psychic
beam
would halt the monster's advance.

Nothing came out of her hands. What happened to her psychic
attack? Sabrina stared at her hands blankly, unable to comprehend why
she seemed to have lost all her psychic powers. The monster, sensing her

letting her guard down, quickly made a grab with its sharp claws.

Sabrina screamed when she felt the claws sinking deep into her
face. She grabbed the claw, and tried to pull it off her now bloodied
face.
The monster however, seemed to be more eager to hurt the girl after
seeing
her blood dripping on the ground. It tigthened its grip on the girl's
face,
causing another wave of screaming.

Sabrina screamed when the claw dug into her eyes. Her world
exploded in a brilliant blood red. Her last thought was that she had
never
realized Mewtwo could be such a sadist.

    ***

Ranma looked down at his hand, and saw that his hand was somehow
on a girl's face. He blinked in surprise. No wonder he thought the
ground
was so soft! He quickly pulled his hand away from her face.

Then the girl on the ground screamed. Ranma almost tripped over
his own foot in surprise as he quietly wondered what was wrong. After
the
screaming subsided, Ranma walked over to the girl to see if she was all
right.

"Hey, are you okay?" He asked as he tried to wake the girl up,
who was apparently unconscious.

    ***

  Darkness. Pain.

The Mewtwo had succeeded. It had crushed her skull with its
claw. She was dead. She had failed.

Sabrina had promised her parents that she would live a full
life after she got transported to another world. She had instead found
herself killed in the hands of a Mewtwo. If she had a body, she would
have
tears running down her cheek at this instant.

She was dead. She could no longer feel, taste, touch, smell and
hear.

Then what was this voice that was calling her?

Sabrina could feel her eyes closed tightly. How did she have
eyes? She remembered them getting pulled out of their sockets by the
claw.
Slightly confused, she concentrated on opening these imaginary eyes.

  She succeeded.

The bright sunlight quickly squeezed into her unprepared eyes,
temporary blinding her, she reflexively closed her eyes, and then slowly

opened them again. This time her eyes seemed to have adjusted themselves
for
the light. Her eyes flickered around for a moment, trying to tell the
brain
that they were indeed real, then they focused on the image before them.

A boy. He was kneeling in front of her with a concerned look
on his face.

"Uh..Welcome back to the world of the living." He paused, then
added, "I sorta had my hand on your face for a moment." Suddenly
realizing
how this sounded, he quickly added. "It was an accident! I swear!"

*So that was just a nightmare.* Sabrina thought dryly. She
glanced at the boy who was waving his arms frantically trying to
explain.

"I landed on the ground beside you and I was kinda trying to
get up, I didn't know your face was in the way when I was trying to push

myself up!" Then, realizing he was blaming her for putting her face in
the
way for him to push, he helpfully added. "I mean, uh, um....."

"Thank you for waking me." Sabrina said as she got up, dusting
herself in the process. "Good bye." Then she walked away, leaving a
stunned
boy staring at her back.

     ***

  "RAAAAAMMMNA."

Ranma quickly turned to the source of the voice, he gulped
when he saw a very angry face from the front door of the house.

  "Who was that girl?"

"I don't know Akane! I found her on the girl next to me and..."
His voice trailed off when he saw Akane's face twisted into a new level
of
anger.

"And you lovingly caressed her face didn't you?" Akane was now
emitting a red aura, clearly visible to any martial artist's eyes.

Ranma blinked. "Hey! It wasn't like that stupid tomboy." Ranma
was not being tactful at all at this moment. Akane then took out her
mallet.
Ranma, knowing that he could not convince Akane with his explanations,
employed the Saotome School of Anything Goes Final Attack. He turned
around
and ran.

But the wooden mallet still somehow hit the backside of his
head and the pigtailed martial artist soon found himself taking another
flight on the low earth orbit via Akane's Airline. Hmm, it looked like
he
was flying in the direction to Nekohanten.

    ***

As Ranma went sailing across the sky, he could not help but
think about the girl on the sidewalk. Despite the fact that Ranma had
ACCIDENTALLY push her face against the cold ground, she should not have
screamed as if someone was cutting her throat.

The girl, before she woke up, had tears running down her cheek.
Was she having a nightmare? Why did her face reveal such overwhelming
sense of sadness? Ranma did not like minding other people's business,
but
he could not keep himself from speculating this time. Did she get dumped

by her boyfriend? Did she have a boyfriend that was as violent as Akane?

Was she having this fiance problem just like he did? Ranma shook his
head
a little, *Not everyone had your stupid fiance problem, idiot.* he told
himself.

Then what was wrong with the girl?

Ranma closed his eyes, and tried to recall the scene once more.
He looked down at his hand, and saw that his hand was on the girl's
face.
The girl screamed, and then he tried to wake her up. After a moment the
girl stirred, and she opened her eyes.

Oh god the eyes. The deep blue eyes held such vast amount of
hopelessness, that Ranma almost just broke down and cried when he saw
them.
The eyes were reaching out for him, begging for his help. The eyes
should
not even appear on a face so young. A young girl like her should be
enjoying
life, like his enjoying his martial arts. The overwhelming sense of
depression was not unfamiliar to him though.

They were the eyes that was on a person's face when someone he
loved died. They were the eyes on a soldier's face when he was forced to

become a killer. They were the eyes on a mother's face when she gave
birth
to a dead child. They were the eyes of death.

Man, this train of thought really sucked.

The helplessness on her face disappeared, however, after she
focused on his face. It was replaced with a cold, emotionless look that
almost pushed him away. But he could not just left the girl on the
street
like that, so he explained, or tried to explain what had happened to the

girl.

She seemed unconcerned about what he had accidentally done,
which relieved Ranma a little. What if his hand landed somewhere else?
Would she still be unconcerned? What if....

Ranma smacked himself mentally. *Stop being a pervert. Ranma.*

The girl gave a goodbye in her monotone, and walked away. Ranma
did not not how to react to this. He had never encountered someone like
that
before in his life. The tone, which gave Ranma a chill, was a drastic
contrast against the scream of absolute horror that had come from the
same
mouth earlier.

Those were his thoughts of the girl when he smashed through
the ceiling of Nekohanten. He landed in a heap on the floor of the
Chinese
restaurant.

"Aiya! Airen come visit Shampoo! Shampoo so happy!" Shampoo
cried out happily and she glomped onto Ranma. Ranma, still disorientated

by the fall, could not push her away. Actually, Ranma could not escape
from
Shampoo's glomp even on his best day. Ranma's face slowly turned purple
as he opened his mouth trying to inhale as much oxygen as possible.

"Can't....breathe!" Ranma whispered. Too bad Shampoo was too
happy glomping her Airen to notice it.

    ***

Sabrina was walking aimlessly around this strange city when
she heard a cry.

"WHERE ON EARTH AM I NOW???"

It was a teenage boy in a yellow outfir with a yellow bandanna
on his head. He was probably a traveller, and was obviously lost.
Sabrina
stopped when she saw the boy walking towards her. The boy bowed towards
her and held out a map. On the top corner of the map was a word
'Beijing.'

"Excuse me miss, but do you know which way should I go to get
to Tokyo?" The boy asked politely.

Sabrina blinked. This boy was asking her for direction? It was
her first day on this world and she was only able to tell east from west

only because of her psychic abilities.

"I am sorry, mister, but I am afraid I am as lost as you are
right now." She answered in a soft voice.

The boy gave her a look of empathy.

"I hope you would find your way soon then. Goodbye!" He said as
he wandered off in a general direction.

Sabrina wandered around the place for around twenty more
minutes, then she entered a fast food restaurant as she realized that
she
was quite hungry.

"What would you like to order, miss?"

"Um, I would like to have a Curry Chicken Bowl."

  "Rice or ramen?"

  "Rice please."

Ten seconds later, a bowl of food appeared in front of Sabrina.

  "That would be 600 yens."

Sabrina froze when she realized she only had 500 yens in her
pocket. She handed it to the cashier anyway.

"That is not enough, miss." The cashier's eyes narrowed.

  "I...I only got this much."

The cashier quickly pulled back the bowl of food and threw the
paper money back on Sabrina's face.

"If you don't have enough money, you won't be able to eat here.
Get out." The cashier said coldly. Everyone started to stare at her
strangely. Some were even gossiping about her.

"Oooh, I think I saw that girl around somewhere." a girl in
a blue blouse whispered to her friend.

"Yeah, I think she works as a servant in the Kunou Mansion."

"But isn't she a fiance of Ranma Saotome too?"

  "I don't know....but she probably is."

"Well, what is she standing there for? I am waiting to be served
you know."

"Hey, can you move please, some of us need food." The girl in
the blue blouse told Sabrina.

Sabrina fought back her tears as she ran out of the door of the
restaurant.

    ***

Mousse was on his way serving ramen to a customer when he
saw a red blur beside a purple blur. He adjusted his glasses a bit, and
was immediately grateful that his glasses worked this time. His love
Shampoo was currently being crushed by Saotome's bear hug! He was trying

to steal Shampoo from her rightful husband again!

*Clang* The bowl of ramen dropped to the ground as Mousse leapt
for the pig-tailed boy.

"Saotome! Release Shampoo right now!" He pulled out two daggers
and threw them at Ranma.

    ***

Ranma, sensing something metal and sharp coming for his
chest, was helpless because he was still glomped by Shampoo. He did the
only one thing he could and he threw himself on the ground along with
Shampoo.

This seemed to anger Mousse even more. If one looked carefully,
he could see steam coming from the top of the Chinese martial artist's
head.

"How dare you force yourself on my Shampoo! Saotome!"

Ranma quickly pulled himself away from Shampoo, but was not
quick enough to dodge Mousse's tackle. Ranma's back smashed though
Nekohanten's wall and the two fighters rolled into the street.

*My back is starting to hurt from all these wall smashing...*
Ranma winced. He did a backflip and was on his feet again. Mousse picked

himself off the ground and growled.

"Mousse, I will enjoy having you as a punching bag." Ranma said
in an egotistic voice. He smirked when he saw Mousse charged at him in
rage. Angry opponents were more likely to make mistakes.

Mousse attempted to slash at Ranma's chest with his katana,
but Ranma was already in the air, right above the raging martial
artists,
and kicked the back of his head as he twisted his body in the air and
landed
behind Mousse.

Mousse hit the ground face first and was still. Ranma blinked,
and walked in front of the near-sighted martial artist to see if he was
all right.

*Crap, did I kick him too hard on the head?* Ranma thought as
he crouched down beside Mousse. Then he put his hand on Mousse's
shoulder
and turned him over.

A sudden kick in the groin caused Ranma to bend over in pain.
It was a trick! The pig-tailed martial artist, knowing he was suddenly
wide
open for any attack, quickly rolled to the side. But the sharp end of a
katana still made a shallow cut on his left arm as he was rolling. If he

had stayed there for one more second, he would be decapitalized.

"Stop! Mousse, or somebody will get hurt!" Ranma cried out as
he rolled back on his feet.

"That's the point, Saotome. Today you die!" Mousse as he charged
towards the pig-tailed fighting with metal claws. Today he would kill
this
poor excuse of a man. Today he would win Shampoo's love!

Ranma muttered a curse as he let his battle aura flared up in
a brilliant blue. He did not want to hurt this Chinese boy, but the boy
in
front of him was going too far today. Then he too charged at his
opponent.

The sky chose this moment to pour raindrops as big as eggs on
Nerima.

Onlookers were treated with a ridiculous scene of a red hair
pig-tailed girl tripping over a duck with glasses and landing on her
face. The girl muttered something about a stupid curse and picked up the

duck that was struggling to get away. The girl pulled back her fist and
punched the animal into the orbit.

Ranma, now female, rubbed her stomach as she realized she did
not have any breakfast yet. She began walking home in the rain.

"Kasumi, do you have any breakfast made for me?" Ranma-chan
said as she stepped into the house.

"Oh my! Ranma-kun, you are bleeding!"

  "It's just a scratch."

"And you are soaking wet too!"

"That doesn't bother me at all."

"But you are a girl now, and you are in wet clothes without
a bra, you need to have some feminine modes..."

  "I AM A GUY! A GUY!!! I DON'T WEAR BRAS!!!" Ranma-chan screamed,
she had enough trouble this morning, and she did not need more. Kasumi
was taken back by the outburst, and Ranma-chan, realizing what she had
done, quickly made an apology. True, it was difficult for Ranma-chan to
apologize, but this was Kasumi afterall. No one had the right to yell at

Kasumi.

"Ranma-kun, Akane made some breakfast for you, she said she
would kill you if you don't eat it." Kasumi said as she handed
Ranma-chan
a set of dry clothes. "Of course I know she didn't mean it."

Ranma-chan groaned. It was going to be a long day.

    ***

Sabrina sunk to her knees in an alley. She was soaking wet from
the rain that started in the morning. She looked up at the sky, and saw
that
the rain did not have any sign of stopping yet.

Being suddenly dumped into another world had its side-effects.
She had no record, no citizenship, no ID, no credit, no money......

  No shelter.

As raindrops continued to fall on her red pokemon battle outfit,
she thought about her nightmare she had in the morning. Was it merely a
dream, or was it something more? Was it trying to foreshadow an event?

Sabrina shivered from the cold. With all the psychic power she
had, she could not even give herself warmth. She sat down on the wet
ground,
which was very uncomfortable as she was wearing a skirt, and silently
accepted the fact that she would have to stay in this alley for the
night.
Why won't the rain just stop? She felt miserable enough.

She had lost everything. Her parents were dead, Ash was dead
Misty was dead, Brock was dead....

She had no friends, no friends at all. She had no home, her
Saffron Gym was probably burnt to the ground. She had no dry clothes.
All
of clothes were prabably destroyed along with her gym.

Even her favorite doll house was gone.

The only things she had were her wet clothes and two pokemons.
And she did not think having two pokemons soaking in the rain with her
would
help anyway, so she kept them in the pokeballs.

Sabrina looked at sky idly as she wondered if this was some
kind of a joke played on her. She would be better off being killed along

with her parents.

Sabrina, tired by all these wanderings, quickly drifted off into
an uncomfortable sleep as the raindrops continued falling on her body.
She
whispered one word before she was completely asleep.

  Warmth.

A tear slid down her face as she fell asleep in the dirty,
cold, wet alley.

Author's notes:

Second chapter is done! Some people who read my previous chapter
thought that this fic is too violent. But I think it is tolerable, so
it stays! Anyway, The cruel treatment of Erika in Chapter one is
a necessary evil. I like Erika and Misty too, but only one can survive
for the plotline, and I choose Sabrina. And in this chapter, Ranma
actually
APOLOGIZES! (Gasp) That's because he actually yelled at Kasumi! No one
ever
yelled at Kasumi either in Manga or Anime. This action is unforgivable.
And the scene where Mousse tricked Ranma into coming closer, I always
thought Mousse's fighting style leans heavily on the element of
surprise,
while the rest of the cast, except Sasuke/Konatsu/Tsubasa, depend on
solid skill and strength. If Ranma fights like a samurai, then Mousse
fights like a ninja, any good single hit from Mousse would end the
battle.
Okay, back to Sabrina, it only make sense that she would not be in
joyland
after being thrown into an unknown world, right? This is no fairy
tale.....
