I love Hiwatari-san's "Please Save My Earth" (Boku no
chikyuu o mamotte)... No claim is laid to the
characters. I just find them fascinating.
Yes, technically it's a Yaoi (I think)... two guys
kiss (BIG SHOCK!).

"Why are you telling me all of this? You know you are
exactly like Gyokuren sometimes," Issei frowned and
looked away in shame. He leaned heavily against the
railing on the roof. How could he allow himself to be
so jealous? He was a man now, damn it!
"You're in love with Alice, aren't you?" Jinpachi
asked, quietly.
Issei stared at his friend in sad shock. In one brief
moment he realized that Jinpachi didn't get it... that
he never would. He didn't remember. He couldn't put
two and two together. The thought filled Issei with a
disconnected sadness, knowing that he would be the
only one to understand... "No," Issei finally
replied.
"Yes, you are. You told me yourself," Jinpachi
insisted, conviction returning to his voice.
"Did I?" Issei asked simply.
Jinpachi's face contorted with thought. "I'm positive
that you did."
Issei used his hands to push himself away from the
railing. "Do you know who I am?" he finally asked.
He caught Jinpachi's eyes with his own. He focused
his thoughts on memories... Memories first awakened in
him the moment he met Jinpachi in middle school.
Years of friendship made the man beside him open to
every thought if he so chose... and he chose memories.

"I don't believe that asshole! He couldn't have done
it... There must be some mistake. Mokuren..."
Gyokuren grunted and slammed his fist against the
table in the mess hall, upsetting a few collected
bottles. They rolled off the table and smashed on the
floor.
"They were found together. You were there. You saw
for yourself," Enju sighed with wearied patience.
"He defiled her... that bright angel... Oh, Sarjarim,
how could you allow such a beast to defile HER?!"
Gyokuren cried to ceiling, "Sarjarim, where were
you?" he sobbed as he covered his face with his hands.
In a sudden burst of energy he threw himself onto the
table, scattering the remaining bottles that once held
a smuggled supply of alcohol. They joined their
smashed companions on the floor.
Enju bit her lip as she stared at the man she loved
struggle with his inner demons. "Gyokuren," she
whispered gently and carefully placed a hand on his
shoulder. He flinched under her touch and she pulled
her hand away.
He sat up and stared at her with a frighteningly sober
look on his face, considering the consumed alcohol.
"Why, Enju? Why?" he asked as tears filled his eyes.
Enju replaced her hand on Gyokuren's shoulder. "Hush
now," she said quietly. Carefully she guided Gyokuren
to the edge of the table and helped him onto his own
feet. "Come with me," she whispered. Gyokuren leaned
heavily on her shoulder as she led him to her own
quarters. She carefully sat him on the bed, expecting
some protest but there was none. She shut the door
and returned to his side on the bed. Gyokuren stared
at her with tearstained eyes.
"The ass... he was always like that. I should have
known..." Gyokuren whispered.
Enju sat on the edge of the bed and touched his
forehead with her fingertips. "Don't think about it,"
she murmured. She leaned forward and placed her lips
against his. For a moment she dared not breathe. She
felt his hands on her hips. Was he going to push her
away? His arms encircled her waist and held her to
him. She gently licked his lips, hoping not to scare
him away. He opened his mouth to hers and clung to
her as if he were a drowning man. Their clothes... so
quickly piled themselves on the floor. He rolled over
on top of her and buried all his pain and sorrow in
her.
Afterwards they lay in each other's arms. "Why?"
whispered Gyokuren.
Enju looked up to her beloved's face. "Why what?" she
asked.
"Why are you so good to me?" Gyokuren sighed. "You
always take such good care of me. I just wanted to
ask why."
Enju watched his chest slowly rise and fall with each
breath. "Because, I'm your friend. And I'll always
be your friend."

Issei took a timid step towards Jinpachi, who was
still bound to him with the vision. "Basically... I'm
Enju..." he whispered as he wrapped his arms around
Jinpachi's neck and pulled his face towards him. He
leaned forward and placed his lips against his. For a
moment he dared not breathe. Was he going to push him
away?
Hands pushed against Issei's shoulders, breaking the
kiss. "Stop it, Issei!" Jinpachi's voice cried out.
Issei stumbled back and turned to look away. It was
hopeless. What had he done? How could he be such a
fool to return as a man? He wiped his eyes and
flipped his hair in one motion as he turned to stare
at his companion. Shock and confusion covered the
other man's face. "It was a joke," Issei offered with
conviction he didn't feel. The other man stared at
him and something else passed through his eyes...
sadness.
Issei turned on his heel and stuffed his hands in his
pockets. The halls echoed his footsteps whispering,
"Baka, baka, baka..."
