I really, really love this story, and I was so excited to get this
chapter. It was just as awesome as I expected...except for one scene
that really threw me off. The one where Ranma is confronting Lantis at
the dance and gets dragged off by two girls.
For one thing, Ranma has been glomped many, many times in his life, and
he always tries to get away, not just protest. And these girls are
wimps compared to an Amazon glomp. But more importantly, Ranma is in
full "PROTECT HIKARU" mode, and it would be more in character for him to
barely acknowledge the girls grabbing his arms, absently use a bit of ki
to anchor himself, and return to his glaring contest with Lantis. This
preserves his cluelessness about girls, as well as his ability to not be
distracted from what's really important to him. Hikaru would confront
the girls while they're fruitlessly tugging on his arms, but Ranma would
only really notice what's going on when Hichan and Hikaru get physical.
The scene as it is makes Ranma seem more like Shinji in his ineffective
protests. It doesn't match the rest of the story, and I hope something
can be done to fix it. Maybe my suggestions will be helpful. Anyway,
other than that, the story is wonderful, and I eagerly await the next
chapter.
