I think Gary will agree, but it's almost impossible not to parallel some part of someone's fic, especially in the Ranmaverse.  It's such a popular source, that it seems sometimes that every good plot has been written at some point.  Don't let this worry you!  If you write it consistently, and try not to steal... let the plot flow naturally, we'll all enjoy the result I'm sure.

After all, Ranma's popularity is why we write Ranma fanfiction isn't it?  So our work will be read and commented on by as many people as possible?  I personally like several series better than Ranma, but I write Ranma fanfiction... because I want that kind of feedback.  It's helped me become a much better writer, and to me, that really is the point of the whole deal.
