Allyn, I'm not sure what you mean by this. Gary
Kleppe and I, and I'd assume others, make up
Japanese
names all the time, by using the Japanese for
descriptive nouns and adjectives. In fact, this is
how RT came up with a fair number of hers.
##My reading of "pseudo" was that he intended to
create Japanese _sounding_ names (from the word pseudo
meaning counterfeit, bogus, ersatz, fake, false, etc)
NOT that he was going to use actual Japanese names OR
use Japanese words for names. IMO THAT is an entirely
different thing.

While I don't know about Gary, I don't remember ever
getting any negative commentary about my names
(granted,
I don't use this technique for major characters,
usually
only names I'm going to mention once or twice).
