Hi, I read through the latest installment. I really enjoy the
way the differences keep piling up making the world increasingly
different. A few specific comments:
"Aw, geez, Akane are you stupid? Why did ya charge her like that?"
Ranma
rushed toward Akane to check to make sure none of the cuts were
serious.
Some things about Ranma never change.
"If I had enough speed, I would've been able to dodge her."
"Yeah, you move like a tub." Ranma turned towards the guys. "Are you
all
Like I said, Ranma always talk without thinking of how everyone
else will take what he has to say.
right? Hey, guys don't cry! Akane took more hits than you and she
ain't
even crying."
Akane paled slightly and thought for a second. "Ah, Hibiki-sensei
taught
me a couple years ago for about a week before leaving unexpectedly."
Ryoga nodded. "Didn't think Mom taught anybody but me." He shrugged.
"Oh, well. I can show you where you were making mistakes."
Hmm, well there was never any indication on where Ryouga
learned about what he tried teaching Akane, however he only gave her
one lesson then got lost for the rest of the week. Most of what she
learned came from practising with Ranma, and having her experience with
Kodachi as a motivator.
"Why?" Akane looked at him suspiciously.
"I just want to do something to make up for the last time I was here."
Ah good, without that little kiss goodnight, Ryouga isn't
fixating on Akane. This'll have a huge impact on his developing
character, which'll be interesting to see. Though I wonder if Akane
will try looking for information on Akari and trying to set her and
Ryouga up.
Ryoga looked toward the sky. "Why? Jealous?"
"No!" Ranma blushed. "Now tell me why!"
Hmm.
"There was something to her movements in the kata that bugged me.
Actually there's something about her. She's... I don't know how to put
it. Not right, I guess." Ryoga scratched his head.
"Well, there is something different about her, that's for sure. Though
I
don't think 'not right' is a good way to say it."
Love at first sight isn't something that shows up in Ranma.
But I do like the way Ranma's finding himself more and more interested
by Akane, one of the great things about their relationship from the
start was the sense of how their feelings had snuck up on them both.
Akane flopped into bed. Ryoga may be a good teacher but he was a slave
driver. Something bugged her and then she remembered. She rolled out
of
bed as Kodachi drove two spiked clubs into the mattress. Akane
grimaced.
Kodachi was very serious about removing her this time.
Hmm, so without the romantic obsession Ryouga seriously tries
to push her as far as she can go. Interesting.
Likewise the way Kodachi's impersonal opposition to the
opponents of her school is becoming a very personal vendeta against
Akane.
Ranma caught the scent of flowers and turned toward the window. He saw
a
pair of predatory eyes look at him, and then Kodachi was gone.
Hmm, The Black Rose might set her eyes on Ranma after all, but
this time as a calculated attempt to hurt Akane by takeing away her
fiancee. Hmm, if she saw Akane acting extra friendly toward
Onna-Ranma, she might do somewhat odder take on her brothers "I shall
have them both" routine. Then again that idea may be crazier than
Kodachi would act.
