Chapter 23: Too many truths.
Alice inserted the computer disk into the computer's disk drive and
opened the file. From there, she began to read.
"The church was designed as the backbone of God's planned battle on
earth. It was designed to lure humans to the Angels side, and to commit
various actions against anyone or anything that could threaten God.
But when time dragged on and God's support for the church started to
dwindle, they took this as a sign of bad things coming. A sign that
their services would not be needed, and when the world came to an end,
they would go to hell with it.
So therefore they planned to overthrow God before he got them. And
that's why they started a war between the Demons and the A.C.M. They
wanted to get rid of enemies before they attacked, but not only that but
they wanted to stall. To drag on the war, as a distraction. They wanted
all attention to be drawn away from them, so they could move without
being seen. They were searching for Pandora's box, and they found it."
When Alice had finished reading that, an almost terrified look on
her face. A look which was caused by the thought of the church
possessing Pandora's box. Such a powerful weapon in anyone's hands could
be dangerous. Anyone but God that is. If they had found the box, then no
one was safe. And God had to be warned.
So she quickly ran to God's throne room, to warn him............
I moved through the icy desert. It was hard to see through this
blizzard. Snow whirling, swirling around me with great speed. Freezing
me inside and out. I felt like I was going to freeze solid, but I hoped
I wouldn't.
I was being followed by Maeyli, Sarah and Lilith, who were not far
behind. They to were having a hard time coping with the cold conditions
here. And I couldn't blame them, but I did for I had not a shred of pity
left in my soul.
After of well over an hour of searching, the outline of a building
started to appear. It was a brown colour, hard to make out through all
the snow. It was more like a brown square outline then a building, but
it became more visible as we drew closer.
Once we had gotten within a hundred meters or so, I saw its complete
form, or something close to it. It was a large building, rectangular
shaped. It was massive in both length, height and width. It was made of
dark-brown wood, or looked like it at least. But no wood should be able
to stand up to these elements. Therefore it must have been a material
which was made, or naturally looked like wood.
The building was littered with windows on it's front and side, all
of them beautiful stain- glass with extravagant pictures on them using
an array of elegant colours. They shone even though there was little to
no light, maybe caused by magic, or something of the sort.
On the triangular top was perched a large, oak-wood cross. It was
about as tall as five people, and the two arms almost as wide. It had a
man wearing only a little cloth over him, carved onto it. This man was
medium sized, and nailed to the cross. His head, as well as his body,
seemed to hang low. On his bearded face was a look of hopeless defeat,
as though he had just lost a great battle.
There was a door at what seemed to be the front of the building.
Which was coincidently facing the same direction we were coming from,
therefore eliminating the need to walk around the building.
And in front of these doors stood two men, armed with large swords
and assault rifles on their back. In their hands they carried lances
more for show then for anything else. And their armor was just as
useless. Made of gold it seemed, with a cross carved into it and a silk
cape, they were just for show, not for combat.
As I approached the building, the two me approached me, weapons
ready for combat. Their faces held a stern look and their eyes burned
with a fire showing they were ready for battle.
"Halt! Go back or we'll have to kill you. And we don't like wiping
blood of our weapons, right Alex" The man beside the one, on the right,
who had just spoken, nodded. "Right. We hate it. You should listen to
Andrew, or you'll regret it."
I sighed at these idiots, and simply waved my hand. And with that
wave, they exploded into flames, and soon turned to ash, which quietly
fell to the ground, and was covered by the falling snow. Never to be
given a second thought ever again.
And so I continued onwards..........
As Alice moved through the hallways, she bumped into a small man,
about four feet tall. He was wearing a navy-blue dress shirt and
navy-blue dress pants. He had dark brown eyes and short brown hair which
was rather untidy. His face was very circular and pale, giving him a
rather timid look. He was shivering a little as he handed Alice a note.
Alice forgot about him bumping into her, as he handed her the note.
She knew he was a messenger from the third division of the military. He
was a good soldier, and quite nice. Went by the name of Ryan Mares, if
she could recall right.
Putting those thoughts aside she dismissed the young man and looked
at the crisp, white sheet of paper she held in her hands. It only took
her a second to read it though, and after she read it, a look of
distress appeared on her face. Everything was going wrong lately,
everything.
She sighed and thought over the one thing that note told. The war
between the A.C.M and the Demons was over. And it seemed their attention
was turned onto heaven. Something else she would have to discuss with
God.
And she continued on her way................
I entered the waiting room, killing half a dozen guards on the way
there of course. The three women were still behind me, not saying a
word, keeping quiet. A quiet that was a little eerie, but didn't bother
me a bit.
As I looked around at the oak wall, the chairs, the paining, the
carpet, I couldn't help but wonder what kind of money the church had. Or
maybe they stole it all. Either way it was worth a fortune, no doubt.
"Good day, Douglas! Nice to see you finally. I have to say I've
looked forward to this day for a long time."
I looked at the man who had just entered the room. He had dark green
eyes and short brown hair. He was tall, but slim and pale looking,
giving him a look of weakness. He wore a pair of wide-brimmed glasses
which gave him the look of a scientist. He wore a dark black business
suit with a matching tie and pants. He looked very dignified indeed.
I was no impressed by this man, he was just another idiot in a fancy
suit, so I threw a punch at him, trying to test his ability. And to my
surprise, he dodged it with little effort.
"I've wanted to fight you for a while, Christ. Who better to test my
skills against? And if I can defeat you, then the world is mine. For
whom could stand in my way if I could kill you? So let us fight. On
guard!"
And so he got into a defensive battle stance, and waited for me to
strike. But the blow never came. Instead I made one simple comment. "I
want to join you."

You saw that coming, didn't you?
