Here's part 22, and the story gets even more twisted. Hard to believe,
isn't it? Well please send C&C, I only got one sender.
Well enjoy! *_*

Chapter 22: Nothing is for free.
Within one's self, lies a thousand upon a million people, or
personalities. Some cruel and evil, others benevolent and divine. And
others, neutral and plain. And at some times these personalities get
control of someone, like when you're angry. When you are angry, a dark
personality takes over, and when you are happy, a nice personality comes
into play.
Now with all of this in mind, I come into play. For I have seen the
dark side of me, the evil that lies within. Yet I was not afraid, I was
not afraid in the slightest. I was not afraid of the darkness, but
decided to embrace it. And when I accepted the darkness, I almost felt
my soul finally melt away into nothingness. It was if that day, I truly
died, and by that day, I mean this day. For this wasn't a long spiritual
journey that would take days of thinking, that only happens in the books
and movies. No. This was one quick, impulsive action. And I regretted it
not for a second. And that was the worst part about it.
I really didn't feel all that different, I just felt the same. The
only real difference that I could feel was there was no little voice, no
voice that tells you the difference between right and wrong. The only
voice I heard was the one which told of how I should enjoy life, by
doing whatever I want. By seizing power, and therefor controlling
everything. And with everything, I could do anything. So the voice aid
to get what I wanted no matter what, no matter what the cost.
Greed, hatred, vanity, lust, none felt bad to me. They felt more
like a warm comforting friend, a blanket in the cold night. Instead of
an evil to be banished and rejected forever. I was a whole new person
now, better, in every way. Not held back by outdated morale systems. I
was not bound by the chains that a conscience and a soul came with. I
was truly free, and no one nor nothing could take that away from
me........................
Alice paced up and down the halls, trying to figure out what was
going on. She was gaining a little suspicion here, much like God. Her's
was directed towards the church, who had a terrible excuse for
everything. Sure, everything said they were right, except her intuition.
There was something about all these events happening around the same
time that the war between the Demons and the A.C.M started. It couldn't
be a coincidence, could it?
She sighed and decided to go back to her room, but before she got
there she heard a voice from the shadows. "Hello."
She turned around to see a body emerging from the shadows. It was
tall, about seven feet, and was very slim. It was a he, as could be told
from his square face and body shape, which was mostly hidden under a
long black robe he wore. He had dark red eyes, short, messy black hair.
And from his back came large, bat-like black wings that had a span of
three meters.
She drew her sword from the sheath and pointed it at the man. "Who
are you and what are you doing here?"
The man completely walked out of the shadows now and smiled. "You
can call me Guni. I'm here to help you."
"How? And why?"
"I can get you whatever you want. And why, you may ask? Well that
can be a mystery, for now."
"Well I want to know why?"
"Do you? Well I'm doing it for the fun of it."
Alice seemed satisfied with that answer, and quickly changed from
the why, to the what. "And what can you do for me?"
"Anything. But I know what you want. You want to know who's been the
puppeteer of all of this? You want to know this because God sent you on
a mission to find it, but you still have doubts on whether they exist or
not."
"You seem to know an awful lot about me."
"I always have to research a client before I approach him or her.
Otherwise you cannot calculate the responses, and to know what they want
of course."
"So when can I have the truth?"
"Now." And he pulled out a disk from his pocket and tossed it to
Alice. "Here's everything you need to know. I may have missed a thing or
two, but I have all the general information there. Now enjoy!" And he
vanished into the shadows.
Alice caught the disk and examined it, a normal disk, nothing
strange about it. She stood there thinking of what to do, until she
finally decided. And ran towards the computer lab as fast as she
could.............
I approached Maeyli, Lilith and Sarah as they all were sitting down,
leaning against a car. They were looking off into space, trying to avoid
conversation with each other. And trying to avoid looking at me, for
they did not want to confirm what they thought had happened to me. For
all they needed to do was to look me straight in the eyes, and then they
would see that I no longer had a soul. The little, white glint of all
that is good was gone. Replaced by the cruel, evil darkness.
"Have you been able to find the other Angels yet?"
Lilith shook her head as her eyes looked up at the blackened sun.
"No. I haven't heard of any new attacks, or anything of the sort. I
would be able to sense the Angels moving, their power is so strong, it's
like a beacon to all magic users."
"So when what do we do?"
"We wait."
"You won't have to."
I turned to my left to see a man in a black robe standing there with
a smile on his face. He had dark red eyes and short black hair. These
features were on the pale, square shaped face of his. And from his back
came large, black, bat-like wings.
"Hello. I'm Guni, and I'm here to help. I can tell you where the
church headquarters are."
Sarah stood up and walked towards the man. "How can we trust you?
Someone who appears out of nowhere, and offers help. It's to good to be
true. Far too good."
The man gave me, and the three women behind me a curious glance, and
then his smile grew wider. "I'm only here to help. I knew you needed
help, that's my job. I help those who need it, as long as their wish is
not to evil, or too hard to complete."
Maeyli decided to join into the conversation at this moment. "It
sounds very suspicious, very suspicious indeed. Why should we trust you
anyway?"
Guni pulled out a large piece of folded-up paper from his robe
sleeve. "You don't have a reason to trust me. But take this and go find
the church's headquarters, if you want. Makes no difference to me. I'm
only trying to help you." He tossed the sheet of paper to me, and
vanished before I caught it.
When I caught it, I unfolded it and looked at it. The sheet was a
map which showed that the headquarters was in the Arctic, not far from
the South Pole. The map gave the exact position in latitude and
longitude, and all the defenses for the base. And when I turned the
sheet around it gave a map of the inside of the building itself. The
positioning of all important things within. This map told everything
needed to launch an attack on the base.
"Well if this is accurate then, it seems I have a guardian Angel
watching over me. Well then, let's go check this out."
Maeyli and Lilith both looked at each other with worried looks.
While Sarah just smiled and nodded, anticipating the battle ahead. She
was a warrior, and therefore was not worried at all. She had thought
about it for a long time, and she had faith in me. She would follow me
to the darkest depths of damnation with me, and that was that.
So we all left in a cloud of smoke....................
Mr. Maddocks sighed as he looked through all the computer files, he
was looking for information on project, Revelations. From what he could
tell it was a weapon, far superior to Pandora's box and the Messiah.
Such a weapon would be an awesome threat, and had to be either taken, or
destroyed. But before you do anything like that, you have to know all
the facts, and that was what he was looking for.
Yet through all the thousands of files he couldn't find anything.
Just remarks about a secret project, and no information available. It
would have to be an important project for no files to be saved onto the
computer. It was surrounded in a cloak of darkness, one he could not see
through. If only he knew some of the more basic facts, but nothing came
up. Not even the Angels knew about it.
"It's nice to meet you."
Mr. Maddocks turned around to see a man in a black robe hovering a
little above ground. "You! I wondered where you were."
"As should you. I've been busy."
"With what?"
"Wouldn't you like to know."
"Why are you here?"
"To warn you. The Messiah is coming, he will be here soon. Prepare
for a battle you shall never forget."
"Why warn me?"
"I won't give away all my secrets. Otherwise, they wouldn't be
secrets."
"So who are you working for now?"
"For myself, as always."
"Do you have any more news?"
"Not for you at least. Well I've got to go. See you again, if you
live." And he vanished into a swirling mass of fire and smoke. And Mr.
Maddocks was left alone, to contemplate what he was going to do about
the Messiah.
