Hello, readers.  It's been a while, hasn't it?  Well, as most of you who have
been following The Shadow Chronicles may recall, I've been promising to get to
the part of the story featuring Ranko for quite some time.  Of course, it's
also been quite some time since I managed to get anything posted here at all,
but I won't bore you with the details.  Suffice it to say, I hope to start
posting regularly again, starting with this.

    Of course, this story is a bit of a departure from the main storyline, which
has so far been pretty much all the Ranma cast, so I'm anxious to see how it
goes over.  The SM elements are quite different from canon in many ways, being
set in an alternate universe, for starters.  Also, Ranko is really the only
Ranma character in the fic at this point.  This fic should end up exploring
some of the important background behind The Shadow Chronicles mythos, though,
which will help when I eventually return to the main storyline.

    Well, I guess the only thing now is to throw this sucker out and see if it
sticks to anything (figuratively speaking, of course).  Hope you enjoy it, and
I hope to have more ready soon (and this time, I mean sooner than seven
months, I promise!)

Hmm, well, Alan Harnum's already covered the few points I was going to make
about this story, so I'll just say that I, too, am glad to see your epic
advancing again.

Beyond that --

Is there, I wonder, some kind of unwritten law that says that, at least
once, all major fanfic writers have to do a Ranma/SM crossover?

(Not that this is necessarily a bad thing.)

Let's see.  Richard Lawson - check.  The Lurker - check.  John Biles -
check.  And now you ...

(And I suppose it'll be Alan Harnum's turn next.  And when Gary Kleppe
does one, the world will end ...)
