I'm just in the mood to post things. I haven't really
worked on my fics much lately b/c of finals, but
they're almost over and then comes winter break which
will give me plenty of time! ^_^ Can't wait! Anyway,
here goes...

Two Halves Make a Whole
Part 4
"Hey that�s mine!" Suiren declares. It is morning
again and everyone has gathered for breakfast.
Ranma and his newly-discovered younger sister have
both reached for the last biscuit at the same time.
"Huh?" Ranma looks up at her.
"This one�s mine! I got it first!" she frowns.
"What are you talking about? Hand it over, shrimp!
It�s mine!" Ranma argues.
"Don�t call me that, dummy!" Suiren says sticking her
tongue out at Ranma.
Ranma sticks his tongue back out at her as the two
begin a face-making war, playing tug of war with the
bread.
"Cut it out you two," Genma says in a very
authoritative manor through the morning paper.
Ranma and Suiren turn and look up at him, surprised
at his parental tone.
Noticing he is distracted, Suiren quickly snatches the
biscuit away from Ranma.
"Really, Ranma, we might expect something like that
from her, but would you at least try to act your age?"
Akane says snidely.
Ranma turns again to his little sister who is happily
munching on the bread. She looks at him and sticks her
tongue out once more and goes back to eating.
"So, Suiren," Kasumi begins, "are you ready for your
first day of school here?"
"I guess so...," Suiren shrugs, "but do I really have
to go to elementary? Why can�t I go to high school
with Ranma and Akane?"
"You�re too young for high school, stupid," Ranma
says.
"Don�t call me stupid!" Suiren snaps.
"You better go and get ready if you�re going to make
it there in time. Your uniform and back pack are
upstairs all ready for you to go," Kasumi says.
"Oh, alright," Suiren rises from the table and
trudges upstairs.
"Hey, Suiren!" Akane calls out from the bottom of the
staircase a few minutes later, "are you ready yet?"
"Coming!" she calls back.
Akane watches as the girl rounds the corner upstairs
and jumps the railing and slides down backward.
"All right, then. Let�s go," Akane says. "Ranma, we�re
leaving without you!" she yells.
"Good! I don�t wanna walk with you anyway!" Ranma says
joining them.
"Oh, grow up!"
"Bye! Have a good day at school!" Kasumi says handing
Suiren her lunch as she heads out the door with Ranma
and Akane.
"Bye!" Suiren calls out behind her.

The three are running as fast as they can, trying to
make it to both the elementary and the high school on
time.
"Hey! That�s pretty cool!" Suiren says watching Ranma
run along the fence, "I wanna try!" Suiren leaps onto
the fence. She takes a few wobbly steps, but looses
her balance and falls from the fence right into a
puddle of water on the sidewalk.
"Ouch!" she exclaims as she hits the concrete.
Akane stops and turns around. "Suiren!"
"Don�t worry. I�m fine. I�m a little wet and my butt
hurts, but I�m fine," Suiren replies simply, "Why are
you looking at me like that?" Suiren reaches up and
tries to grasp at her pigtails, "Uh-oh......"
"Uh-oh is right!" Akane says staring at Suiren, who
is now a boy in a dress.
"This could be a problem....," Ranma says.
"I think we ought to stop at Dr. Tofu�s on our way,"
Akane says.
Ranma nods in agreement.

"You should really be more careful, Suiren," Akane
says as she pours the hot water over Suiren�s head.
"Don�t take stupid risks like that!" Ranma says.
"Sorry," Suiren apologizes.
"Like you�re one to talk about stupid risks,
Ranma....," Akane mutters.
"Hey, Akane!" Dr. Tofu calls out running from his
clinic, "You left your back pack in my clinic!" he
says handing Akane the bag.
"Oh! Thank you, Dr. Tofu," Akane says.
"No problem, Akane," Dr. Tofu replies. His attention
is suddenly turned to Suiren. "And who is this pretty
young lady?"
"This is..... uh....," Ranma begins.
"I�m Ranma�s sister, Suiren Saotome," Suiren chimes
in.
"Ranma�s sister, eh? Well, I�m Dr. Tofu and it�s very
nice to meet you. I never even knew Ranma had a
sister," Dr. Tofu says shaking the little girl�s hand.
"Well, neither did Ranma until a few days ago," Akane
says, "She�s staying with us now at the dojo."
Genma, as a panda, appears behind Dr. Tofu holding a
sign. It reads "�Shouldn�t you kids be getting to
school?�"
"Daddy?! What are you doing here?" Suiren asks.
"Your father works for me," Dr. Tofu says, "He�s
right, though. If you�re gonna make it on time you had
better hurry."
"We�re going to be late!" Akane exclaims looking at a
nearby clock, "Bye, Dr. Tofu!" Akane waves as she
takes off down the sidewalk with Ranma and Suiren
close behind.
"Bye! It was nice meeting you, Suiren!" Dr. Tofu waves
back.

"Well, here we are," Akane says, "This is the same
elementary school that I went to when I was your age."
"Aren�t you coming in with me?" Suiren asks.
"Nope. We don�t have the time," Ranma explains.
"Kasumi�s already registered you and everything. The
principal�s office is right inside the front doors,"
Akane says, "Do you think you can make it by
yourself?"
"I guess so, but...," Suiren replies sadly.
"Good, we�ll be back to pick you up after school.
Bye!" Akane waves as she and Ranma take off down the
sidewalk.
Suiren waves back. She turns to look at her new
school. She watches all the kids running around
laughing and talking and then turns to the sidewalk
and watches Akane and Ranma slowly disappear. Suiren
takes one more look at the school and then takes off
down the sidewalk after Ranma and Akane.

Suiren follows them closely, but not too closely, to
the school. She climbs a nearby tree and watches as
they come upon an older boy wielding a wooden sword in
the courtyard of the school.
"Don�t you ever get tired of this, Kuno?" Ranma asks.
"Silence! Today is the day, Saotome," the boy
addresses Ranma, "I can feel it in my bones, Saotome!
�Tis the day that I, Tatewaki Kuno, the Blue Thunder
of Furinkan High, shall finally smite thee and win the
hand of both the lovely Akane Tendo and the pig-tailed
girl... Today is the day you die, Ranma Saotome!" Kuno
says as he charges at Ranma.
"Not likely," Ranma says as he charges right back at
Kuno.
Suiren leaps from her perch, landing right between
Kuno and Ranma. "Leave him alone, ya big bully!" she
yells stopping Kuno dead in his tracks.
"And who, pray tell, are you, little girl?" Kuno
asks.
"I am Suiren Saotome and you better leave my big
brother alone!" Suiren says sternly.
"Did she just say big brother?!" "I didn�t know Ranma
had a little sister!" "Well, there seem to be a lot of
things that we don�t know about Ranma." the crowd
mumbles.
"Ah! Such beauty from one so small is a rare and
wondrous thing indeed. This matter doth not concern
you, little flower, so please I beseech thee to not
trifle in the matter at hand and allow your curd of a
brother to take the punishment that I have set out for
him," Kuno says.
"Oh, yes it is my business!" Suiren says as she kicks
Kuno hard in the shin.
Kuno begins to hop around on one foot, clutching his
other in pain, "Why you little....."
"She�s pretty powerful!" "Kuno just got beaten up by
a little girl!" "Oh, man! This is gonna have a big
effect on his reputation!" "As if he ever had a good
one to begin with...?" the crowd talks amongst
themselves.
Kuno tries to hop toward Ranma and Suiren, but Ranma
promptly plants his foot in Kuno�s face, knocking him
out. "Suiren! What do you think you�re doing?! This
was a man-to-man fight! You shouldn�t butt in like
that, stupid!" Ranma yells, "I don�t need my little
sister fighting for me so mind your own business! I
can handle it on my own!"
"I... I was just trying to help....," Suiren says
meekly.
"And why would I need help from my little sister? What
are you doing here anyway? You�re supposed to be in
school now."
"I know, I know...," Suiren looks down at the ground
in shame and begins to cry.
"Geez, now you�re making me late because I have to
walk you back!" he continues, "You�re such a pest...!"
"Jerk!" Akane slaps her hand across his face.
Ranma stands speechless, rubbing his sore cheek.
"The teacher should understand. Why don�t you come
with us, just for today?" Akane says taking pity on
Suiren, "If he says �no� then I�ll walk you to the
elementary school myself."
"Are you nuts? She doesn�t belong in high school. I�m
her brother and I say she has to go to her own
school," Ranma says putting his foot down.
"C�mon, Suiren," ignoring Ranma, Akane takes Suiren�s
hand, "I�ll show you around."
"Thanks, Akane," Suiren wipes the tears from her eyes
and walks with Akane into Furinkan High School.
