He didn't say anything, but merely nodded and dragged his feet toward
the furo. Placing himself in the warm water, he slowly became aware
of his surrounding. < I'm here with mom. Away from all the craziness
of my life. > Closing his eyes and relaxing, he played over some of

Um, Nodoka lives at the Tendos' (Saotomes' home was destroyed) and >she's
responsible for a fair amount of the craziness in his life.

Yes it's a bit of stretch for Ranma to regard his mother's place as a zone
of safety where he can confess his inner uncertainties and admit that things
are just too much for him to handle, and he's sick of fighting men and being
chased by girls. <Ka-Sching!>

"try" I assume you're talking about Akane here. Their relationship was
far, far better than this even by the middle of the manga.

However there is plenty of room for their relationship to take a turn for the
worse. I'd say actually that taking that tack, having things fall apart post
end-of-manga wouldn't be utterly unreasonable, even if it isn't what the author
had in mind.

"Ranma, if the promise cause you or anyone pain, it's not worth
keeping."

"causes" Strange advice for a parent to give.

Particularly strange advice for Nodoka to give. If she has come to this
conclusion then all her own sacrifices and suffering were worthless.
Apparently the author forgot to put the [Bodysnatchers] tag in for this
part of the crossover.

A complaint far more appropiate to the early manga. One thingthat isn't
mentioned isRanma's verbally abusive treatment of Akane.

I don't see why it would be. After all, Akane isn't getting a chance to
tell her side, and this whiney Ranma isn't going to point how much of his
troubles are of his own making.

No he didn't promise. Ranma was talking to the neighbor's dog and never
mentioned it to Ryoga. Also, how could he use it against Ranma? There

While this is true, Ranma is perfectly capable of forgetting who he made
the promise to. However, he's lying. Ranma _did_ try to tell Akane that
Ryoga was P-Chan. She simply refused to believe such an aspersion against
such a nice guy and such a nice pet. Ranma gave up trying to tell her after
Ryoga helped rescue her from drowning. From then on he started covering for
Ryoga.

a dead issue by the end of the manga, anyway. The last story that focuses
on it is the Shi Shi Hokodan duel in vol. 20. Ryoga's helped out Ranma

There was no real animosity in the SSH duel anyway. They were just trying to
master a new technique and testing it on each other.

"Is he the pet pig Akane always carries around?"

Good guess. How did she know?

This Nodoka is Super-Mom. She knows everything and is infinitely understanding.

"Coward," muttered Ryouga.

Unusually spiteful for this late in the story.

Oh I don't know. It's pretty descriptive in this case. Running off and leaving
his mother to clean everything up?

thought." Nodoka also heard his comments. < There's no stopping me
from being with Akane now. >

I guess Ranma isn't the only person who's forgotten about Akari.

I think it's quite clear that this is based on the anime, not the manga.
There is no Akari in the anime.

Nodoka doesn't have the authority to make Ranma clan head.

She could kill Genma.

nothing more of it. Now, she's facing Nodoka with the possibilities
of time in court and maybe prison. She nodded her head in
confirmation. She was afraid to speak.

Nabiki: Up yours, hag. I haven't done a single provably illegal thing.
Now get lost.

"So, is this why you develop a fear of cats?" asked Washu.

Ranma reply flatly. "Yeah."

"heheh.at least you only have to do that once."

Sounded a lot better coming from Usagi the first time I read it.
Lines of Destiny, wasn't it?

Akane has put a lot more effort into making the engagement work than
Ranma. Putting all the balme on her in really unfair. Even at the end,
Ranma wouldn't admit that he'd said that he loved her when he thought
she was dead.

Yeah but it's the girl's job to make the relationship work, right?

Incidentally, since when does hanging around a boy and mooning over him
while making okonomiyaki constitute an act of war anyway?

battles he fought. "..the last battle was against Saffron, the
phoenix king, on Mountain Phoenix. After that, I thought things would

Whoops, a deviation from the anime. Maybe Kirin (or Toma) should be
put in Saffron's place here.

"Well, mine started when I released Ryoko from the shrine that trapped
her.." Shinji reacquainted his adventures while Washu used her

Shinji, Tenchi, what's the diff?

Shinji: Well you see I went down into this cave and accidentally released
a demon named Lilith and then these 17 angels started coming one by one and
I ended up getting engaged to five or six of them...

Hawk."

I'm not sure that giving Ranma such a huge powerup is a good idea. And
aren't Tenchi's abilities suppossed to be unique?

Yes, but he'd have some kind of Juraian power. However just
handing it to him before there is any need is poor plotting.

Where did this come from? The Tench-ken was Yosho's sword.

Yeah, but it's Christmas so it's time to give Ranma lots of presents.
