Remember, Ryoga spent enough time around Merlin to develop a case of
older-brother-hero-worship (as demonstrated by the way Ryoga brought him
up). That contact would have diluted much of the Amber influence.
(Granted, Merlin's no saint, but he's better than the majority of
Oberon's spawn)
Or maybe use one of the other princes? Random, maybe?
Remember the references? This is a post-Paternfall Amber. The remaining
princes (except Jurt, and he don't count) are all too busy or too
virtuous (well, as virtuous as an Amberite can be).
(Besides, Random's wife would *strongly* disapprove of Random kidnapping
cute teenaged girls.)
