This is just a little idea I had. A small change at the beginning of the
series. Let's see how it can snowball, ok?

The problem I have with this is not the plausibility of the change --
but rather, whether that change is going to lead to anywhere
interesting.

One of the main things that makes me want to read the Ranma 1/2 manga is
the conflict between Ranma and Akane. Like Maison Ikkoku's Yusaku and
Kyoko, their relationship is volatile enough that you never quite know
which way it's going to go, yet solid enough to keep the series going
and keep you cheering for them.

By toning down Akane's temper and Ranma's ego to the point where they
don't matter, you take away a good portion of the conflict that made the
manga interesting. If it's this easy for Ranma and Akane to build a
relationship, why should I care whether or not they succeed? If the
usual tensions between them are going to be replaced by some other
conflict, that's fine, but if that's the case we should see it in your
story and (so far) I don't.

On the positive side, apart from some glaring typos, your writing is
technically quite good. I look forward to seeing other work from you.
