Date:
Fri, 3 Dec 1999 20:04:09 -0800 (PST)
From:
Sakuya Misaki <tenchigirl@yahoo.com>
Description: Sasami shows up the Senshi.
Comments: A giant lipstick tube doesn't seem likely to
be able to dodge Venus' chain. However, that attack doesn't
actually do any damage. Also, why can Sasami see
through the stupidity field when she couldn't for Pixy
Misa?

[FFML] [Fanfic][Ranma/Rifts] The Journey Part 2d
Date:

From:
"Daniel Ruth" <daniel.ruth@worldnet.att.net>
Description: Ranma and Ryouga visit Munchkinland, aka
the Japan of the Rifts RPG.
Comments: Almost certainly, the Japanese of the Empire
and the Republic would notice that Ranma speaks using
a male syntax.
"Good. No was that so hard, Ryouga?"
"Now"
for a moment, "Ryouga is also not the sharpest tool in the shed. Saner
than the Kuno's, but none too bright."
"Kunos"
"So you have no idea what you just promised Ryouga?" the god's voice
seemed to tremble in humor.
"The god's voice"
"You don't understand! If Akane finds out I knew and didn't tell her
she's going to kill me!"
"Oh, tough call. I guess you, Ranma, Shampoo, Cologne and your father are
"tough break"
Are you sure Thoth isn't Loki?
"Don't worry. You're amazing good. I'm sure that when your eight hundred
years old you'll show those other Tengu fogy's a thing or two about martial
"amazingly", "you're", "fogies"
I'm not especially fond of writing Ranma a blank check
for as much power as he wants, but I suppose it's in tune
with Rifts. The scenes with Nabiki were all very good.

From:
"Sean Gaffney" <gaffney@iconn.net>
Description: Gaffney's Pluto must answer to the
interdimensional council of Plutos for criminal
stupidity.
Comments: More interested in sticking in a variety of
fanfic Plutos than telling a story, it contains some quite
entertaining vignettes. I wonder where the the Plutos
who happen to be male hang out. Gallifrey?
I do see a problem with using Gaffney's outers because
there is an inherent inconsistency there. These women have
killed something like ten little babies, so who are they
to travel to another dimension and tell their counterparts
they are wrong for their "broken eggs to omelettes"
approach to the senshi business?
Also, erasing Gaffney's SI would not have destroyed his
Crystal Tokyo. Without his intervention, the Dirty Pair
would have just killed another baby, assuming of course
that the new Pluto didn't have some other idea for how
to handle the problem.

From:
Jed M Bidwell <Jedediah@tri-countynet.net>
Description: Akane's cure backfires, and the evil
sorcerer takes off to Jusenkyo with everyone in pursuit.
Comments: Poorly formatted, and this attempt at a
slam-bang finish seems somehow unsatisfactory to me.
I don't really buy the idea of Jusenkyo being the product
of a demon from hell. The curses seem more mischievious
than sinister, and the abrupt change of venue is both jarring
and strikes me as derivative of works such as Waters Under
Earth. Why can't the sorcerer have been doing something bad
in the Tokyo region? Why would Akane be blamed for something
that would have happened with or without her?

Comments: Seems to work. I can imagine this as a fantasy
episode of UY.

Date:

From:
"Siew Lee, Wong" <wsiewlee@tm.net.my>
Description: Orphan enters into training to become as
a kind of samurai/ninja kind of guy.
Comments: Well researched and painstakingly proofread.
The only time I've ever seen a fanfic author use the word
"excepted" correctly. Not knowing the source material is
no handicap at all. In fact I don't even know what
series this is from.
However, the narrative foreshadowing at the end is
a bit overdone for my taste.

No, diamonds are a girl's best friend, not dogs.
Why doesn't Shippou count, anyway?

I admire Xellos' breath control. I couldn't say all that
in one long run-on sentence.
Incidentally, now that I think about it, didn't Yotsuya
vanish about the time that Xellos became a major character?
And what ever happened to Akane Tendo?

From:
"Jeremy Evans" <ianmakabe@hotmail.com>
Description: Ranma, a Clan Mechwarriour, is captured by
the Tendo mercenaries.
Comments: Some spelling sloppiness, particularly with names
like "Nadoka" (Nodoka), "Kernesky" (Kerensky). Ranma's
commander's sexual exploitation of Ranma totally violates
canonical Clan practises. Engaging in sexual congress is,
as I'm sure you know, illegal for any trueborn warriour.
Barbarians. That's what the clans were. Technologically advanced Barbarians.
A mockery to all the great one had stood for. Kernesky must be spinning in
his grave. Well no more. He would find a way to make Kernesky's dream a
reality. With this thought Ranma grabbed a bar of soap and began to cleanse
him self in more ways than one.
"barbarian" is not a proper name. "Kerensky", "himself"
