Here is part 17. I think this story will go up to 23-25 chapters,
depending on what I decide to add in or cut out.
Also, lately I haven't got any C&C. I'm wondering if anyone is
reading. If you are, send me C&C, I would really appreaciate it.

Chapter 17: The sacrifices.
I looked around this whole place, it was so tranquil. The sky was a
bright blue, the grass a dark green, and the sun shone so beautifully.
There were no people, no garbage, no pollution at all.
Me and the woman, who called herself Maeyli, were sitting on a hill.
Not that high of the ground, but it gave a nice view of the fields going
ever onwards. It was a beautiful sight. All the trees, the flowers, the
bushes, some animals. A lot of birds. Everything seemed so peaceful, the
exact opposite of my original life.
Maeyli, was lying down looking at the passing clouds. She had
recently taken off her hood and veil to reveal a young face. With long
pink hair and light blue eyes, she was very pretty to say the very
least.
"Where is this, anyway's?"
"It is a world between different worlds. There always different
worlds existing at the same time. Some times they collide and rips form
connecting the two dimensions. Like Heaven and Hell are two different
dimensions that collide with your dimension regularly, each one every
twenty- four hours."
"I see. So why are we here?"
"To relax. Until you decide where you want to go. The options are
limitless. Whatever kind of world you desire I can get you to."
I nodded and relaxed. For the first time in a long time, I relaxed
and enjoyed the scenery. There was just something about this woman that
made me feel comfortable, secure, happy. I couldn't quite put my finger
on it though. "Can I ask you a bit of a personal question?"
"Sure."
"What did Lilith mean by this Legendary Talisman?"
Maeyli sighed and I thought I saw a tear run down her face. "It has
been thousands of years since that incident and yet I still feel as bad
as I did that day." She stopped for a second and her smile left her
face. "A long time ago, I worked for God. And he wanted a weapon to
destroy the Demons, a weapon of such unimaginable power that nothing
could stand in its way. That's where I came in. I designed and created
this weapon. A simple device, no larger then two fists. And I tested it
out, to see if it worked. And It......." Tears started trickling down
her face. "Went out of control. It sent a wave of pure energy along the
surface of the earth. Any living matter within that wave was vaporized.
Millions of people. Plants and animals. Everything died. After that I
hid the Talisman to make sure no one would use it ever again."
"But they will. The church is but one step away from getting it."
The voice came from Lilith, who stood at the bottom of the hill. She
had a stern look on her face, the kind that would move rocks. "You're so
sad about what you did. And yet you are doing it again. By taking
Douglas away from it all, you are letting billions of people die. The
Seven Angels have arrived. And see what they have done!"
Lilith waved her hand, and a large, black square appeared in
mid-air. About a second after it appeared, an image was shown on the
screen.
The image showed a large city. With spiraling skyscrapers and
office-buildings. Yet many things were different. No one was in the
city, and cars were strewn everywhere, as though abandoned in great
fury.
The sky was blood red and the soon dark black as though it was being
blocked out. But it still cast a black light upon the city. A dark black
wind blew through the city quickly dissolving and decaying anything it
touched. Cars rusted in seconds, falling apart as though they had been
there for years.
The buildings were all engulfed in fire, great pillars of black
fire. All throughout the city were these pillars of fire, raising and
dropping quickly. They totally incinerated anything they touched,
leaving barely ash behind.
There was one person amongst all this fire. This person was tall,
about eight feet tall. It was a he, with short blond hair and dark blue
eyes. It wore a black robe and had large dove-like wings extending from
its back. It floated there calmly with a sinister smile on it's face as
it watched all of the carnage around it.
"This is Bane, one of the Seven Angels. He is the on moving through
North America. There are also Corruption, Insanity, Fear, Spite,
Despair, and Plague. They are destroying the earth at an amazing rate.
Within a day they will have destroyed it all unless stopped. Only you
can stop them Douglas."
"I won't let anyone use me anymore."
"Dammit! This is not some childish game! I am NOT trying to use you.
Get it through your little head that I am trying to save mankind.
Billions of people. Are you saying you want people to die because of
you? Do you want to be a murderer? You now hide behind happiness and
good times. Why? Because you're to damn afraid. You're a coward!"
"Shut up!" What she had said had really hurt. It was like hitting an
old wound. But when this wound was hit, my anger flared up, not pain.
And endless scream of anger.
I then passed out........................
"So the coward is back? Nice to see you again. Still hiding from
reality?"
I knew that voice, it was me. Or more precisely, the Messiah part of
me. The part of me that makes me what I am. A weapon created for a war.
A weapon to be used and discarded afterwards without a second thought.
"I'm not in the mood for this game. I don't care if the world is
going to hell or not. It's not concern of mine."
"You think nothing is your concern, like you're better then everyone
else. News flash. You're not. You may be the Messiah but you are a lot
worse then most human beings I've seen. You're a total coward!"
"Shut up."
"Let me show you a home movie. It's called, Mankind .Vs. One of the
Seven Angels."
Another screen appeared in mid-air, the same size, colour and type
as the one Lilith had created. An image appeared on it, much like the
one Lilith had shown me.
"Now watch. This is when the US army tries to take on Bane."
I did watch, for something drew my eyes to the images. I didn't know
why I watched, why I didn't turn away, but I just couldn't.
The image showed the Angel Bane, moving slowly through the city. All
around him were flames, being flung down to the earth and scorching
whatever it touched.
The image then changed to one showing a small attack force. Over one
thousand soldiers equipped with the best weapons the US army had. Also
there were about eighty heavily armed tanks and about thirty
helicopters, Apaches.
They were moving quickly through the city, approaching Bane. Moving
past the fires and the corpses, trying not to throw up. They had looks
of distress on their faces, as though they knew they were going to lose
this battle.
"Now watch."
And I did. I watched as the soldiers closed in on Bane, about fifty
meters from him. That's when they opened fire. The apaches with
missiles, the tanks with there 150mm cannons, and the soldiers with
their machine-guns.
They all hit home, causing a massive explosion. Fire and smoke
engulfed where the Angel stood, and nothing could be seen.
The soldiers relaxed and so did the tanks and helicopters. They
didn't expect the counterattack though. They didn't expect it at all.
A black wave flew across the land and through the sky. It was a wall
of dark blackness. It moved so quick that the soldiers didn't see it
coming.
The wave totally vaporized everything it touched, nothing within the
wall lived. The soldiers didn't even have a chance to scream as all
their flesh and blood was pealed away from their bones, and finally
there bones vanished. Yet the looks on their faces would be forever
etched upon my mind.
"This is the future for mankind, only death. You can change all of
this, but will you? Or will you always run?"
Before I could answer, I awoke..............
My eyes opened to see Maeyli standing there looking down into my
eyes with a smile. "Thank God you're awake! I thought you were dead
after you fainted."
I looked around, everything was a blur. But from what I could tell,
Lilith was not around. "What happened to Lilith?"
"She left. Saying something about the Talisman."
"I see."After saying that everything around me came into focus.
There was nothing alive, just charred ground for as far as I could see.
No life was present except me and Maeyli. "What happened?"
"When you fainted, a wave of fire came out of your body and
incinerated everything in a ten kilometer radius."
"What?"
"It's your powers. Whether or not you want them, they will come.
They will become more and more powerful until the day you die."
I looked down at my hands, and I swore I saw red blood. "They're
dead."
"Who are?"
"Millions upon millions of people. Soon to be everyone. They will
all die unless I fight the Seven Angels. Can I be so selfish as to let
everything be destroyed?"
"Yes, you can. People will never leave you alone if you save the
world. You will become like a movie star, for eternity. You cannot die
of old age since you're the Messiah. So you will be hounded and
remembered for all eternity. People will thank you, want to talk to you,
ask you about your problems. They will make you solve every single
problem on the earth, whether you want to or not. People will suck you
in and never let you go."
"Maybe. But what if I go, and then return here, with you?"
"I'm flattered. I can't say I like the idea of you going, but if you
want to, you must. I will be behind you no matter what you do. I'll have
to look after you though. Because you are not going ANYWHERE without me.
You got that?"
"Yes."
"So are you going or are you staying with me?"
Now was the time of decision, the time of revelations. What would I
decide to do? What? It is such an important decision, and one to be made
by such a small man. What would I do, what?
There was a long silence, lasting what felt like days, but then I
answered. "Take me to my house."
"Why do you want to go to your house?"
"To get my weapons."...........
"We found it."
"The Talisman?"
"Yes, it's buried in the Antarctic."
"Well then get some men together and lets go."
"Yes sir."
