Hi all!

I am begging respectfully for help.  I am currently attempting a french translation of Daigakusei no Ranma (with permission and blessings from the authors) and I am a little confused.

As there is no neutral gender in french, I am wondering what gender a katana would be considered.  I know a *sword* is female, but some other bladed weapon are male, such as a knife.

Please respond privately, I really need to know this.
