leadership?

::clears throat:: Misao *is* already the OKASHIRA of the Onmitsu
Oniwabanshuu. Whether Aoshi likes the idea or not, her fellow members of
her clan has accepted her 'self-declaration'. Now, she wants Aoshi give up
the position, or least, the title. If you are familiar with RK (I'm not
saying you are not, but you do sound like you haven't seen the manga.),
Aoshi is already trying to find peace by meditating and he seldom goes out
to handle those everyday problems in the Oniwan. Misao and Okina do.
Besides, the Onmitsu are *not* supposed to exist in the meiji era, so being
Okashira doesn't bring any meaning. Honestly, I think Aoshi isn't a great
leader at all. Too stubborn. Yes, he is loyal and friendship conscious but
all of these elements don't make an effective leader. What the Oniwan needs
is someone who dares to make drastic changes in order to survive in modern
Japan.
Also, I highly doubt the Oniwabanshuu will ever accept him as their
Okashira after the Kyoto arc. He let the Shishi-O's team of fighters attack
Aoiya and they nearly killed everyone in Aoiya. Other than that, he has
also nearly killed Okina.
BTW, concerning the point you just brought up, she wanted to free Aoshi of
his burdens and responsibility. As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing
wrong with Misao's begging. In fact, I do find it plausible as Misao loves
her Aoshi-sama a lot and she doesn't want him to suffer any more pain
resulting from leading the Onmitsu.
As I have mentioned in my previous post (the one I pasted my fic), this
piece of work is a sidestory to my epic where Aoshi survives a *very*
traumatic childhood.
